I just broke up with my girlfriend for seven months.

My own advice has been to hit the bar and to get that comfort. Sure it can help, but it's not appealing to me.

I tried to find the reasons for it, but there isn't anything I'd do differently.

I do love her, but as it turns out, it must just be a four letter word.

She didn't like me working this much, but I gotta do what I gotta do, did I like it or not.

We had the name for our first kid thought up.

I'm no relationship expert but I would avoid the temptation to go for the quick-fix supports like boozing or a rebound girlfriend.

Oh what the heck....date her sister.  yes

If you work too much, they complain about how you don't have enough time for them. If you don't work enough, they complain about how you can't take them to the Ritz in your fucken Mercedes Benz and buy them that fancy jewelry and stuff. There's no way out except finding balance and setting the right priorities in your life and put them in perspective. She was obviously not ready for you, so what do you worry about? Skip the booze, rather play the right music and take some time out on your own to reflect and recover. Things will fall into place with or without her, iif you broke up, you were not made for each other - or else you would not have broken up.

Booze is a depressant...just makes things worse.

So skip it.

Go out with the guys, have some fun, and enjoy the new found "freedom" for awhile.

When not working, do what you can to take your mind off her and...before you know it....she'll be a distant memory.

Well look at the bright side...you inlaws were a bit taxing no?  There are no kids involved...
She is only 17, so like conny says, she wasn't ready for this...
maybe next time, if you want to get into a relationship, it's best to pick a partner who is equal to you (at least financially)
I don't know of any women who actually believe in that one income senario anymore....but I'm sure there are some out there, though I don't think gf was one of them no
...don't drink...like someone said, it's a depressant
...play the guitar, play with the dogs (I'm sure they missed you too)
I'm sorry though, I'm sure the "mom" is throwing a thousand I Told You So's down her throat so even though you're feeling pretty crappy, I guarantee you, she's not out there dancing in the streets either...sorry Blue Cut...better to find out now rather than later...

That's horrible man, maybe you should let her mature a little since she's young , when you feel the time is right to come back to her, be like "let's try and start over again," or something like that. Try not to give up, you probably have a second chance. Do what you feel is right. What's your brain telling you? What's your heart telling you?

Well, she had done some thinking and appologized me.

Then we talked more and I told her how pissed off I was when I get complains for trying to achieve a better quality of life, sure I can live with my day job, barely.

Anyway, I hope she thinks things through next time.
