Are you going to one of their concerts?

Didn't get tickets because they sold out in about 20 minutes. I was trying to get them online but since the server was "too busy" all the time, I didn't get one single ticket!? Undecided

/jarmo

You can get tickets on this site. http://www.biljettnu.se/content/order.php#517  They are never sold out.. I bought my tickets there to see them in globen but they are pretty expensive.

Depeche Mode Re-Ups With Mute, Unveils Tour

October 06, 2008 , 4:50 PM ET
Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.

Depeche Mode has renewed its long-term deal with Mute/EMI and is planning to release its 12th studio album in early spring 2009. It's unclear who will handle the project in the United States; past Depeche Mode albums were licensed by Mute to Warner Bros. here.

At a press event today (Oct. 6) in Berlin, the band also unveiled its 2009 Tour of the Universe, which will play 28 stadium dates worldwide beginning May 10 in Tel Aviv, Israel. As-yet-unannounced dates in North and South America will follow; Live Nation is promoting.

The last Depeche Mode tour, in support of 2006's "Playing the Angel," was supposed to conclude in Tel Aviv but the show was canceled due to concerns over safety.

"Playing the Angel" has sold 423,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The set was produced by Ben Hillier, who is also producing the as-yet-untitled new album. Frontman David Gahan said during the press conference that at least two songs he'd penned would appear on the set.

Here are Depeche Mode's tour dates:

May 10: Tel Aviv, Israel (Ramat Gan Stadium)
May 12: Athens (Terra Vibe Park)
May 14: Istanbul (Santral Istanbul)
May 16: Bucharest, Romania (Parc Izvor)
May 18: Sofia, Bulgaria (Vasil Levski Stadium)
May 20: Belgrade, Serbia (USCE Park)
May 21: Zagreb, Croatia (Arena)
May 23: Warsaw (Gwardia Stadium)
May 25: Riga, Latvia (Skonto Stadium)
May 27: Vilnius, Lithuania (Zalgirio Stadionas)
May 30: London (02 Arena)
June 2: Hamburg (HSH Nordbank Arena)
June 4: Dusseldorf, Germany (LTU Arena)
June 7: Leipzig, Germany (Zentralstadion)
June 10: Berlin (Olympiastadion)
June 12: Frankfurt (Commerzbank Arena)
June 13: Munich (Olympiastadion)
June 16, 18: Rome (Stadio Olimpico)
June 20: Werchter, Belgium (TW Classic Festival)
June 22: Bratislava, Slovakia (Inter Stadium)
June 23: Budapest (Puskas Ferenc Stadium)
June 25: Prague (Slavia Stadium)
June 27: Paris (TBA)
June 30: Copenhagen (Parken Stadium)
July 2: Bergen, Norway (Koengen)
July 3: Arvika, Sweden (Arvika Festival)
July 11: Oporto, Portugal (Super Bock Super Rock Festival)

Jarmo, what would your favorite Depeche Mode album be?

Violator.

Playing The Angel is their best one since Ultra...

Hopefully the new one will follow in that tradition.

violator & black celebration are probably my faves.

Depeche Mode have announced the European leg of their "Tour of the Universe 2009". The band are currently in New York working on a new album, due April next year. Depeche Mode's follow up to "Playing The Angel" will be the 12th album for the UK outfit. The tour will kick off in Israel on May 10th, 2009. Note that the last date of the "Playing The Angel" tour (August 3rd 2006) was to take place at Tel Aviv's Hayarkon Park, but the band were forced to cancel due to the impending war.

This will be Depeche Mode's first ever stadium tour, taking place in 28 cities across 22 countries before finishing at Porto's Superbock Super Rock Festival on July 11th. Depeche Mode are expected to play to over 1.3 million fans on this European leg of the "Tour of the Universe 2009".

I just recently listened to Black Celebration and i dugg it.  "Question of Lust" is a fucking amazing song.

I also have Playing the Angel and a few greatest hits CDs.  It's funny because i'm actually stealing all of these CDs from my mom who was a big fan in the 80s.  Tongue

I suppose I'm more close to her age than yours  hihi

to me Playing the angel was disappointing, except for a few songs (Lilian, Nothing's impossible, Damaged people).

on Black celebration everything is great, But not tonight is probably my favourite DM song.

Too bad But Not Tonight (originally a UK b-side and a bonus track on the cd release of Black Celebration) isn't included on the single-disc version of the remastered album. Until Depeche Mode release a career-spanning collection of non-album tracks, I'm stuck with the original cd from 1987.

As for Playing The Angel, I'd go as far as to say it's their best since Violator.

Yes.

Then they went into a more rock sound using guitars and so on.

That's a wonderful album from start to finish.

Music for the masses is awesome too. Much darker I think though.

The only stuff ive heard by them , that i recall (as my dads a big fan of them), was kinda more middle eastern sounding stuff they did? im guessing late 80s or something? it was pretty dark sounding

Check these out for examples of the more rock sounding stuff:
