To tell you the truth, I was there just a day before you posted this question.
So here it is for you and many others who wonder about it -
If you have a chance - go there. It is an very cool but small place.
SNITCH is on the second level of an building.
Right when you enter, there are stairs that will lead you up.
In the club itself, there is nothing that would make you think it is owned by someone from VR.
No shirts for sale, no posters, no pics, nothing.
Like I said, the p[lace is small and has 5 tables. If you come in with friends for a drink, I guess friday and saturday you could go somewhere else.
We came in sunday so it was quiet acceptable.
They have an small stage right next to dj place and an very pissed dj ('I told them, where do you want to put a stage in this place!? There is hardly enough place for me on. These rockstars... They always need to have a stage when they own something!').
Indeed, the stage is so small that drums would take 80% of it. I asked my friend where would he think other members would stand, 'on the floor I think. There is no way you could fit an guitar there pass the drums'.
Good think is that any band can come and book a stage there, no matter if they have a contract or not.
If you hope to pop up and see someone from VR or other celeb, there ain't a rule.
They come and go regardless of the day or happening.
The walls itself are kinda like CBGB (we don't have clubs decorated here in Europe that way, Croatia at least), lot of different news paper clippings of different subjects and people leaving messages on the wall.
There are also three tv's on the walls broadcasting sports mostly (I think I read somewhere it said sports and rock club SNITCH).
Also, the only rock sign in the club other than stage is cardboard sign of FOO FIGHTERS 'IN YOUR HONOR'.
Hope this makes an picture to everyone.
Also, when the place is full, I expect it to accept up to 300 people standing.
There is no enterance fee.
p.s. If you are in NY, make sure to go to CBGB.
The place is going through some pretty heavy time.
They want to close it and make it into homeless shelter.
I am always for helping the charity, but CBGB made history.
Slash wore CBGB shirt for ages.
It hosted such giants like Guns N Roses, Urban & 4, Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins, Andy Warhole, Sex Pistols, Blondie... Stones members were frequent there too.
Support it by going there.
Perhaps we could start some kind of petition here or something.
That place made history.
