Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

« on: September 23, 2005, 11:31:54 AM »

After numerous departure and arrivals from 1995 to 2004, I do think the current line-up is the best since 1993 and since the old band broke-up.
Axl, Tommy, the guitar duet Richard-Robin, Brain, Dizzy and Chris: This is solid and cohesive. It seems equilibrated for me. Coherent.
So is this the best GN'R line-up since the old band broke up? In my opinion, YES, I'm convinced.

There's nothing to base your evaluation on.

No new music, live performances, no track record of being creative as a group or cohesive as a band.

The jury is still out and will remain sequestered until they actually put something out and take the show on the road.

Well, IMHO the best lineup would be this:

Axl, Richard, Robin, Tommy, Chris, Dizzy, and Josh Freese. Don't like Brain all that much. ESP since he is so tight w/Buckethead. Makes me feel he isn't quite into things as much, but that is just a feeling may not be the truth. Also, I like Josh's image better plus he has better chops.

Neemo, I guess that's not his point. Hes point is the band is currently cough*sans BH*cough, innit?

To me the lineup that made IRS is the best so far. The muse was with them.(metaphoric speech Tongue)
I'm hoping to see her on CD.(metaphoric speech Tongue)

We haven't seen the latest of "the current lineup" since then.
So Jury's out on all fronts. But somehow I feel all positive that we will see the best or the better one. The band won't show itself if not in great form.

well with that being said then ppbebe this thread is basically pointless

but to keep on topic, I think the lineup in 2002 was the best, cuz of buckethead, the guy was just too awesome, and i think its obvious that Robin/Fortus is just not as versatile as Robin/Fortus/Bucket

the band had more talent when Bucket was in the band. Moreover Bucket was the guy who woulda stood out had he stayed , he , behind axl woulda been the true new "star" of GNR.

My opinion.
