Nothing's gonna happen this year. Axl blew a huge opportunity last night. Did you watch the NFL Kickoff show last night in Boston? The crowd was in a frenzy. The Stones, Santana, Green Day and Michelle Branch performed while I was watching. The announcer said, "Stay tuned for a Surprise Guest!!" My heart literally skipped a beat. I realized it was the perfect time for Axl to reappear. The place was already about to explode, and Axl showing up would have drove the crowd wild. Instead, the surprise guest was Ozzy singing Crazy Train. He got a lukewarm response. Its like they were hoping for something big that didn't happen. Does Axl realize that these kinds of opportunities will not last forever?

GNR appearing at this kickoff concert would have worked, because The Stones got a huge response by singing an unknown song. A much better response than Ozzy got singing a song over 20 years old.

What is Axl waiting for? If he is happy with living a life out of the public eye.....fine. Good for him. Just level with the fans & let us know where he is coming from.

huh?

How could he blow an opportunity that was never presented?  Axl was never attached to this pregame show.

Axl has to leave his house first.

Odds of that happening: 1000-1

James my man, you wanna watch out you will end up getting a job as Axls personal advisor if you kep thinking little gems of genius thinking like this!! Only my humble opinion but I reckon I am quite close to the mark in saying that Axl and his gang know exactly how they want to market the return of the band!

Getting back to the topic, Yeh why not eh! A Vegas show again, will be good. Is there any sort of buzz about this in the states at all? I think that if they play Vegas then it will come because the release date has been announced and it will be the start of big things to come with regards to touring in 06. I still think there may be a chance that the album will come out this year and the tour will follow soon after. So yeh why not kick it all off in Vegas at New Year?

Jameslofton, I'm glad I wasn't the only one whose heart skipped a beat.  I knew it was improbable, but damn that would have kicked ass.  But like I've said before, if we were to get a release just before Thanksgiving or Christmas '05, GNR's name would be huge just in time for...Super Bowl XL, which is 1 day before Axl's 43rd birthday!  Talk about a birthday present...half-time show at the Super Bowl would be huuuuuuge!

Also, if there were to be a Vegas show, how would a mere mortal like me on the east coast get tickets?  I know it would be via internet, but how?  Just curious.

Axl4Prez, GNR wont be doing the Superbowl. The Rolling Stones have already ben chosen for the halftime show. No way would the Stones do it if there was a chance of them being upstaged by Axl.

Can't a man dream?  Please let me "Use my Illusion."   Wink   There always seems to be a "surprise guest" at these events, if CD's been released well ahead of time, I have a feeling Mick would be cool with throwing a bone in the form of an Axl cameo appearance.

Any ideas on how to get tickets if there was a vegas show?  How much advanced warning was there at the previous shows?
