Many series in TV uses this feature to gain some adepts to watch the show, for instance Friends (i'll be there for you), Joan of Arc (What if God was one of us), CSI (Who are you), and sometimes they make music of their own like The X Files made by Mark snow, the thing is that if there's a crapy song in the beginning of the show like Wonderfalls its probably the tv show couldn't last, but damn the show was great, other TV show that failed and was great was True Calling but the song wasn't good.  no
Do you think this affect?

I think you have a very valid point about good theme music being important in the success of a tv show.  I think that one of the best theme songs ever was "the beverly hillbillies", it was catchy and memorable and if you'd never seen the show before then the theme song gave you the entire backstory for it.

My favorite theme songs are laverne & shirley, the A team, the fall guy, miami vice and when I was a kid, seasame street. Grin

Theme music being good can be important...to an extent...it becomes the shows signature and as soon as you hear whatever great theme it is you will most likely think great it's 'Insert Name Here'.  Like i said though it's important to an extent but if the show sucks then it can have the best theme in the world but it won't matter...the show still sucks.  Top themes; Cheers, A-Team, Fraiser (The music over the credits), Red Dwarf, Only Fools And Horses.  There's many others but those are the ones which instantly come to mind.

I always loved the Knight Rider theme  Grin

I think it does affect your perception of the show, and its 'coolness' factor.

That's awesome i forgot all about that, that has to be one of the all time best. ?I also liked the Baywatch one Embarrassed am i right in thinking Sammy Hagar sung that? Overall i would say the best theme's came from 80s shows...the cheese era i mean they were so crap and cheesy in general they were amusingly good...and i do mean that in a positive way...speaking of cheesy themes.....Happy Days...though it wasn't the theme tune that made that it was The Fonz... ok Ehhh ok

They have taken that out of the dvd release of season 3 of married with children.  The people who own the rights to the song were asking for too much money.
