Guns N`Roses new logos and band image..?

I was looking around on different Merchendise from GNR 2002. What do you think about the current Style/design Guns N Roses use? Like the Star and the Chinese style of the wrighting? It is pretty different from what they used back in the days. I gotta say i like the new GNR bandimage, and logodesign.
The dragons and Fonts are great! Coz the old stuff with the skull and guns is kinda outdated... so i like to see fresh GNR logos... Do you think we will see more new logos and brands? How would you like them to be? Maybe a bit more Metallook?

I'd like to see it.. more as a nice image on a tee shirt (like the mark lanegan merchandise) than a logo and some tour dates.

I like the new image. These days, I wouldn't feel too comfortable wearing skulls and the typical hard rock imagery, so I'm glad they changed that.

I feel the same. The old logos are very dated. I dont even buy shirts anymore with the old logos. I just buy shirts that have pics of Axl on them. Even if CD doesn't come out soon, he should at least release a new logo to be put on merchandise.

The only images from back in the day that I still like and wear today are the Use Your Illusion covers (well, it's Kostabi's work, and Raphael's originally but anyway). Those are really cool.

I like the new logos and stuff and I share Pandora's opinion about the old imagery.

Only joking. Seriously, I don't see how it could be modernized. It needed a complete makeover, not only to look up-to-date, but also to sever the link to the old band, which I suppose is Axl's goal.

i love the pic where the army guy is wrapping his bandana around his head. i like the star with the bullet holes too and the new font. it's a perfest progression or developement from the old stuff.. i wouldn't want gn'r to stick to the old shit like iron maiden, it's just lame and it totaly fuckes with the idea of making new shit...

i think chinese democrasy is the wildest title ever and it fits the whole gn'r situation really fucking well. i can't wait to see some new merch and art work!!

I would like a completely new logo. The logos from 2002 wasn't all that impressive. But ok I guess, they could've done worse. How about a new cross? Maybe skulls of the new members and they are melting. With the cross in flames. I think that would be pretty cool.

I'm not sure with going with a completely different look, concerning t-shirts and paraphenelia is the smartest thing to do. Everything looks a little weird, a little too polished.


As for the image of the band goes, we have a noticable change...

 ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Fortus- Today's tamed Motley Crue look
 ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Pittman- Willy Wonka


and if you wanna throw in Buckethead, well.

Anyway, I think the dress and look of the band today does a good job of seperating and severing off the old version.

There needs to be a link, and paraphenelia could've remained closer to the original style.

The image of this band is pretty weak.... I also don't think the Appetite era skulls look poutdated to this day.. But the illusions ones look silly and always have.. Like the ones on Matts drums and stuff...

That would look like a parody of the old band, or a cover band. Not a good idea IMO.

I think they should stop marketing the merchandise as G&R as they did on 2002 tour.  Go back to GN'R.  That's the name of the band.  It's Guns N' Roses, not Guns And Roses. I know its stupid but it bothers me for some reason.

chinese style / imagery / writings are very very rednecks and over used by people who have no style. (i mean the shirts with the chinese dragons on them ...give me somthing i can use .... you only see that in Lille )

i think GNR has to keep it simple

the only strong image is the one of the japanese kamikaze, but it has to be used in a way that makes it sober and simple ....

i bought GNR 2002 shirts, i only sleep with them, they're so ugly. i dont wanna look like some hobo from the north of france or montana

I liked the 2002 logo and typeface too. However, I believe the typeface was first used by Buckethead for an album, tour or promotional materials, so it too may go the same way as buckethead.

As for the kamikaze shirt, that too is great! But, that logo is a parody of a clash t-shirt (http://damselworld.com/pd_velvet_underground_banana.cfm0 [thanks sic.!]. I would be surprised if they used that has a widespread promotional piece.

well i love the new gnr logo. i bought a chain with the star  a while back and i think it`s the coolest thing out there. does anyone remember it?    i don`t like the dragons that much, but the other things are pretty cool i think.
