As for that "the album is done I've heard it from Merck" thing - Haflin doesn't know jackshit, because his mouth is as big as the grand canyon. Unfortunately, some people's asses are not, so it's very questionable if they'd share any sensitive information with this average photographer who'd much rather like to be a rockstar himself. Oh I forgot he IS a rockstar because he took a picture of Led Zeppelin - thirty years ago...

So the album is done? Great, we've heard that two years ago.

there are more ups and downs on this board than a roller coaster, one minute the album isn't finished and will never be released the next, it's done and will be out soon. ?

The same people that slam GnR one minute are happier than pigs in shit the next, I'll be glad when this album is finally released. I have a feeling some people will be really let down while others will claim it's the best album ever created. ?This site will be pure panimonium (sp?) when the release day is announced.

Jimmy, the band does have to be present for the release, or at least a couple weeks before the release. GNR will need to do SNL, The Tonight Show,etc. If people dont believe the rumours about it not coming out, they should just look at the fact that Richard is going off to tour in November. Or maybe Axl doesn't plan on promoting it. This isn't the year. A huge favor was done by telling everyone that. Now everyone can stop their champagne wishes and caviar dreams for 2005. But like I said earlier, maybe this new info coming out is just disinformation. As usual, only time will tell.

A low-key, word-of-mouth promotional campaign???  I don't want to sound like an a-hole by stating the obvious...but people don't even know Axl is alive! much less heading a new incarnation of the band.  Please explain how that strategy could work.  Also, explain why it would work better than *Rolling Stone interview with print ads  *tv ads  *radio buzz  *Super Bowl half-time performance, etc.

Axl4Prez, a low key word of mouth promotion is the only thing that could make 2005 a remote possibility. With Richard touring towards year's end, then there cant be a media blitz, unless he is being replaced. But as its been said before, 2005 is over. But with it being over, they should just go ahead and announce to the world their tentative release date.
