"Merck also told me the news that the Guns 'n Roses cd is done and it rocks (not his exact words)... Well, he did say it has four rockers like Appetite For Destruction - the rest of the tracks are "challenging and epic", Meaning they're boring or Axl thinks he's joined Rush... Got to thank Merck as he did send me the T Rex Born To Boogie soundtrack, not forgetting the Led Zeppelin, sorry, I mean ELP dvd..."

If Merck is a man of his word, he would let some of his good friends hear these tracks. If for nothing else, good publicity. Chinese Democracy needs to get a buzz started in the industry about it.

Ross is a rock and roll photographer whose been around for decades. He shot early GNR and alot of 70's bands. He also followed a couple VR tours shooting the band. VR are his current favorite to shoot in the music scene right now.

2 days ago richard said it wasn't. It's amazing how great they are in comunication. ?
The GN'R camp should never work for secret services. They would start a 3rd world war with all their communication mistakes.
I've never seen that in my life. Ron Thal, save us

The plot thickens my friends.
? I hope Ross shoots the band pics when they get together.? He's by far the best photographer in rock.

With regard to Merck/Fortus, and the album being done/not done:
Perhaps all the music has been recorded, but now it needs to be mixed/mastered.

If CD really is 100% done with no fine tuning or any other crap needing to be done then we'll start to hear more people talking about it. ?Even if it's only people making jokes about the length of time that Axl has been working on it.
I won't get too excited until I hear someone like Merck or Axl actually saying it publicly. ?All they have to do is call a friendly journalist and let the word out. ?Within people who are interested in rock music there is going to be a buzz building amoung the people who can't wait to see Axl fall flat on his face and the people who want it to be great.

I'm starting to think that this could all be some type of smoke-screen as to what is really going on. ?With Richards site showing tours in November, saying the albums not done, toRoss Halfin, who I consider an inside source, mentioning Merck saying the albums done. ? ?

This one's got a source or two, Ross' web site and Merck.
Unlike all those e-mails that can't be traced to a source....

"So much for ever taking any more pictures of Guns N' Roses in the future. Now go stick to your pathetic website diaries before you criticise music you haven't even heard yet."
This and nothing else should be GN'R's manager's response to this. Well, only in a perfect world maybe...
As for that "the album is done I've heard it from Merck" thing - Haflin doesn't know jackshit, because his mouth is as big as the grand canyon. Unfortunately, some people's asses are not, so it's very questionable if they'd share any sensitive information with this average photographer who'd much rather like to be a rockstar himself. Oh I forgot he IS a rockstar because he took a picture of Led Zeppelin - thirty years ago...
So the album is done? Great, we've heard that two years ago.

Also what does Ross have to gain by saying this in passing in his blog? What gnr fan reads his blog. Its not some plant or conspiracy.
Also just because Gnr might not tour in 2005 does not mean they cant still release CD in Nov and Dec. For all we know they could release the album at the end of Nov then do another NYE show then start a world tour in Jan.
