"You're an idiot"
MIA: Guns N' Roses (article)

Current members:
W. Axl Rose, lead vocals, piano; Tommy Stinson, bass; Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman, keyboardists; Richard Fortus, lead guitar, and Brian "Brain" Mantia, drums.
Previous Members:
Slash, lead guitar (1985-96); replaced by Robin Finck, (1998-99) and Buckethead (2000-04); Izzy Stradlin, rhythm guitar (1985-91, 1993); replaced by Gilby Clarke (1991-94) and Paul Tobias (1994-2002); Duff McKagan, bass (1985-97); Steven Adler (drums, 1985-90); replaced by Matt Sorum (1990-97) and Josh Freese (1998-2000).
Claims to fame:
Between 1987-93, GN'R ruled the airwaves with hard rock staples Sweet Child O' Mine, Welcome To The Jungle, Paradise City, Patience, November Rain, You Could Be Mine, Don't Cry and Civil War.
Where are they now?
Um, still waiting for the band's next album Chinese Democracy to see light of day. Website pauseandplay.com reports a Nov. 29, 2005, release date, but Pitchforkmedia.com's projected timeframe sounds more realistic: Dec. 18, 2036! Despite selling more than 47 million copies of Appetite For Destruction, GN'R Lies and Use Your Illusion I and II and The Spaghetti Incident, a long hiatus for GN'R ensued after 1993. After numerous lineup changes, years of drug and alcohol consumption (which almost resulted in death for Stradlin) and infighting between Rose and other band members (and, in certain places ? hello St. Louis and Montreal! ? Rose and fans), outside projects began to take precedence. They included Izzy Stradlin & The Ju Ju Hounds, Slash's Snakepit and solo Duff McKagan and Gilby Clarke albums, to name a few. Slash, Stradlin and Sorum later joined forces with former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland and ex-Wasted Youth guitarist Dave Kushner to form Velvet Revolver, whose debut album Contraband came out in 2004. Slash and McKagan have even sued Rose over the rights to certain GN'R songs.

They really need to update their figures.
GN'R sold 80/85 million albums worldwide, not 47.
Otherwise, thanks for the article.

Something like 36.5 in the US (add about 5-10 million as the RIAA is about a decade out on everything
) and 40 mill worldwide, i'd say 80 mill overall sounds about right
These journalists have no clue....

It doesn't specify whether is US or Worlwide, so I assume the figure reflects domestic sales.

Yeah, he quit the band in '99 never to return. Mr. fortus is the only guitarist remaining in GN'R. I don't think.
Even on the release of GH, the management stated that GN'R had sold more than 80 millions worldwide.

Who ever wrote this article is an idiot. They have obviously got Izzy and Duff mixed up. Duff is the one that died, Duff is the one who formed VR with Slash and Matt. What a stupid fucking dumbass.

I dunno if we can count tracii guns as a memeber of GNR since they never released any material with him as the guitarist. But otherwise yeah the guy got a bunch of facts wrong....so what.
Changes nothing.

On that basis there are a few current members you can cross of the 'members' list.

It is amazing that these so called "journalists" articles make the print. This guy obviuosly is in no way a music fan. It is no wonder so many stupid rumours start regarding Guns and VR. These people should do there homework alittle before they write there articles.
