Here Today...

« on: August 09, 2005, 02:55:13 PM »

I can`t believe this - Metallica says something good about GN`R. It` s almost unreal when all we know that James hates Axl a lot.

"Over the course of our career we've been fortunate enough to share the stage with a select few of the bands we grew up on, admired and respected including AC/DC, Deep Purple, Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden. The only band that we have never played with but have always wanted to is The Rolling Stones," says Metallica's drummer Lars Ulrich.

Yeah the warm words is again from Lars ... nice guy... peace

That's cool especially since I thought they had hard feelings over the Hetfield incident in Canada.

All of his mentions were great!  ok

Lars more than the rest of the band has always seemed to have a "soft spot" for lack of a better term for Axl.

I dont know why they'd have hard feelings over Montreal

Its not like Axl set James on fire

GNR left, but all that did was make Metallica look ever better.

Hi, I'm Botaxl & I like to cause riots.

« Reply #4 on: August 09, 2005, 05:41:38 PM »

The reason Metallica had an issue with botaxl over Montreal was because they thought he should've gone out & helped save the show by at least performing a full set. Instead whaxl throws a tantrum, storms offstage & says his voice hurt/the sound sucked. Later on, axl was seen drinking, smoking & basically acting very nonchalant about the riot he had just started. I think Metallica took exception to axl's professionalism, or lack thereof.

Its common knowledge that lars is fascinated by Axl, to the point where u could say hes in love with Axl and he would prolly lick Axls ballsack if he had the chance.

Theres many interviews that can back this up, and I know theres people in this site that also know this

Lars also had the giant letters "AXL" on his drum set when they were touring with GNR. If Axl had asked Lars to join after Adler left, he likely would have said yes.

Lars = Very pro-GNR.......big fan of Axl.......it's been in numerous interviews and recently Lars said he is waiting patiently for Chinese Democracy because he thinks it will be amazing.

James = Very anti-Axl.....every chance he gets to poke a jab at Axl he does.  Definitely bad blood brewing from the Montreal incident which if James gets a chance to mention he does.

Kirk = The only comment I ever saw from Kirk on GNR was that he enjoyed the tour and thought it could have been bigger.

I knew when I read the title of this thread that this nice offering was from Lars.

On a side note, Hetfield came off as a grade A prick in Some Kind of Monster; as to why he feels the need to antagonize all the time? who knows.

Dont think James hates Axl, but he made some fun of Axl because of some of Axl's strange demands backstage, but Axl called James a "lumber Jack" on stage as a joke when GnR,Metallica and SkidRow had a real cool show together in 91 or something.. So it goes both ways. But I know most of GnR loved Metallica, Axl included, and most of Metallica loved GnR as well (James included).. Just some childish swings at eachothers sometimes..

The reason Metallica had an issue with botaxl over Montreal was because they thought he should've gone out & helped save the show by at least performing a full set.

I also think the answer is that simple. James and co. just wanted them to save the show and Axl had these issues so they couldn't. I think that was the time when James thought something like "what a pussy ass" as Hetfield has always been; do the show if it would kill you and then drink beer till you drop  Smiley. I think Axl was too glamour and too primadonna at the time for James Hetfield.

Didn't Axl mention Lars during the Toronto 02 show?  If I remember correctly he seemed to be making fun of him.

haven't been her on the board in a bit...  (been reading mostly in my spare time)
thanks for the side splitting laugh!  ok

as for the comments about Hetfield's taking exception/ offense to Axl's professionalism...  why should I give a fuck about what James is offended by?  I've always been a huge fan of Metallica and I was offended by "St. Anger"  Tongue

Nice to get an GNR compliment.  In the early 90's it seemed like a familar debate who is better Metallica or GNR.  To me it was a no brainer.
