Why Izzy left GN'R? It was only the drugs' addiction?
Did he have any problem with the publicity that GN'R gained?
I've heard once that he didn't like to appear in big shows or something like that. He wanted Gn'R to remain a silent rock n' roll band?  Huh

I think there were several reasons:

Izzy didn't like how the band turned out (big tours, big videos, late starting shows etc.)
Drug problems
He wasn't into it anymore.

If Izzy had wanted GNR to be a silent band, AFD would've been Chinese Democracy.

izzy.34sp.com has interviews (the 1992 and 2001 ones) where he talks about his leaving, he says the final drop was Axl wanting him to sign a contract which said where he could and couldn't go on stage and a paycheck cut.

Basically the music came second to all the bullshit, the drugs and booze stuff from Slash and Duff (Izzy was clean since '89), Axl beeing a control freak and turning up late etc. so he left. Also he didn't enjoy playing stadiums, he like clubs etc. more cause there was more interaction with the audience, the energy and sound is immediately there.

Since he left he's released the most albums of all the ex GN'R members, he said the the thing he likes most is just writing / recording and travelling. I think the reason why he didn't tour almost at all after 117 degrees is that he doesn't like the commitment. I think he just wants to do what ever he wants to do at any given time.
