This guy blows me to pieces.
The intro to Californication hits a nerve so deep inside I can't deny him and his falcon.Sweet Jesus the sound he makes. His voice is alot better than Anthonys..
His solo works kick arse...Watching that guy play live is such an experience not to be missed. The RHCP rule in their live shows..
Anyone else feeling the frus love tonight???

At 17 he was produced amazing music in his bedroom and when out of his head wasting away, many have tried and not captured the sheer brillance that is John Frusciante. He just improves with age.........

John is the greatest guitarist right now, Everything he does is amazing and he has helped elevate them to the top and as one of the greatest bands period.
BSSM,Californication and By The Way are all amazing, John brings out the best in Anthony and He and Flea have a chemistry that is unbelievable.

His work with the Chilis is brilliant but his solo stuff is a bit hit and miss. Good to see him overcome his demons and keep on making great music!

I remember when him and Anothony walked on stage at Slen he was smiling and sio taken a aback by the love for him that night. When he sang Maybe Baby and the crowd cheered him,he was so humble and polite. When they came back on for encore and he played the intro for Californication I just wanted to die.I even tolerated the guy behind me with the huge hardon...
I was standing inches away from him when he sat on the outer stage and played Under The Bridge.I never saw him smile so much as he did at Slane...
Did anyone hear see him play at ATP?

Im not sure, what is this ATP?
John walked on stage with Flea at Slane to play the intro. Anthony came out alone a while after, I think.
it was an amazing concert anyways! the best live DVD Ive seen yet for sure!
so you were there?? woah, that's awesome!!
and yeah, he was so good singing Maybe Baby!
Venice Queen might be my fav song of that show, John's backup vocals were just
....it was a total killer!
the wait for the new RHCP album is killing me these days!
Anthony's dad has now said it won't be out till 2006! it was suppose to come out in May this year!
it better me amazing! but hey, of course it will be!

I remember you wanted him to work with Axl. Wouldnt that be amazing
I like his emotional style of playing, you can just feel him play, just like Slash.

I got that Slane Castle Dvd Hillell and it is bad ass!
I love the song Purple Stain, that song is so underrated.
Johns backup vocals are amazing and compliment Anthony very very well.
They are in the studio working on the CD, I just cant wait to get it
I say March 06 or summer 06, I can wait though cause they are one band that does not disappoint or rehash old shit.

hell yeah D it's badass!
backup vox and guitar is perfect on it!
and yeah, Purple Stain is a great song.
I REALLY hope the album is out before summer 06!
Chad said a month or two ago that it would be out in October of this year, but it has obviously been pushed back since then. they're pretty much done in the studio, I think only Anthony's left doing some vocals.

Actually John has the worst vocals I have heard. He needs to keep playing the guitar and not worry about his voice.

hey people, Dave Navarro just answered a question I asked him regarding John! for those who don't know, Camp Freddy is a jam band that get together now and then to play some cover songs, Slash played with them last Friday, check the VR section of this forum for pictures and that stuff. maaaaan I hope Slash will play with Dave and John!!
here it goes:
Me: Do you think there's ever a chance John Frusciante will join Camp Freddy onstage sometime?
Dave: I literally spoke to him last week and asked if he would do one. He said he'd for sure do it. My hopes are for the October Vanity Fair show.

I have to say that I stopped liking the Peppers after the release one hot minute. With Californication and BTW we witnessed an evolution that I wasn't particulary too crazy about. Everything that I liked about BSSM simply wasn't there anymore with the later albums. However, I do appreciate talent, and John is a very talented artist. "Californication" is indeed an awesome song, but my little baby is "zephyr song". The rest of the songs don't really do it for me, but Zephyr is pure brilliance. John's backing volcals fit right in with the song, not to mention his guitar work and solo.

I was talking about the start of the show.Anthony and John walked out togther.Flea was already on stage when John joinned him for the intro if memory serves me correct..
Yeah I saw them support U2 at Slane in 01' ,went to see them at the RDS Dublin 02' then Slane 03' missed them play Phoenix Park last year I was in Chicago didn't get back in time..
Venice Queen was never one of my favourite songs, but it kick arsed that night.
I read that.John said at one show it would be late Oct..Not to worry.I don't mind waiting.I hope they produce this album musically for themselves and the fans not for commerical success.I didn't like BTW all that much..I like the sounds of the two new ones,21st Century and Ready Made.Ready Made has killer bass playing from Flew,I hope he features more this time round.I hope they can get an element of their live show and jam session across on the album. That would be cool as well as a few long intros from John..
John also mentioned he had 12 or so songs himself so maybe he will record and release in the meantime..
He might now make an appearance at ATP with Mars Volta..
ATP is All Tomorrows Parties,it is a festival in Camber Sands. It was currated by Vincent Gallo and a whole load of bands played including John. Also The Tints played,Flea's daughter Clara plays drum in that band.Mars Volta are currating in December. The Nightmare Before Christmas.John might make a surprise appearance and Jam with Omar.Would be cool..

ok, maybe you're right about the beginning of the show. but I remember Flea and John coming on stage first, from the DVD. might be wrong though!
I didn't like Venice Queen that much till I saw the show either, now it's my fav BTW song.
I liked the BTW album, but I hope for a more funky album this time, and it seems it might happen too, from what they're said about the it.
unlike you, I hate waiting! lol, can't wait to get the album!
Ready Made and 21st Century are awesome songs! even though Ive only hears crappy recordings of them, they sounded great! John had really cool solos and everything!
it would be awesome if he released a new solo album sometime soon, would make the wait for the RHCP album a lot more tolerable. lol.
Ive heard some songs with the Tints, I didn't really like them.
Mars Volta is amazing though! and it seems like John is playing a lot with them these days, so that's all cool to me!

Granted I was pissed but I was front row and I do remember Anthony walking out a few steps ahead of John and John saying something to Anthony and smiling at the crowd.Start of the show. And as far as the Flea and John thing, again Chad came back on for encore did a drum solo,we all chanted "oh lay,oh lay oh lay",then Flea came out played his little trumpet jam then John joinned him for Californication..I could be wrong like I say my memory sucks, maybe you could watch the dvd again and prove me wrong
I love nothing better than being proved wrong..
I love the stuff John does with Omar..I love his work with Joe Lally and Josh Klinghoffer. They blend well together.Joe plays a killer bass on Automatic Writing.
I don't care waiting for RHCP stuff if it means I get another helping of JF
I only heard low quality also but my cousin was at the Vegas gig and he said they were amazing.Ready Made is my favourite of the two..I am hoping for a more mature sounding BSSM sound.I don't buy into that hippie sounding BTW style. It was more John's influence and he can pull it off well but not the chillis.I like their funk style better.
I am not fussed on The Tints either, but early days they are only starting out..Mars Volta do like but I preferred Omars' sound in his previous band At The Drive In.
