Lord Raz who the fuck do you think GNR got started by Axl, Slash, Izzy, and Duff, and here you go calling Slash a fucking media whore just because he got off his ass and made a new band and they are successful while Axl sitting there with his thumb up his ass. belive me i want a new GNR album just as much as you but dont go talking shit about Slash and Duff just because they are doing better than your hero Axl.

a) I'll never, EVER talk bad about Duff.

b) When I watched Slash play the national anthem at the Jays game? Yeah. He's a corporate call girl. I've seen more of him in the last year than I did for the 17 years prior that he was around.

Sorry son, but I've got no respect left for Slash. Duff still kicks ass though. How could anyone hate Duff. I mean....he's DUFF!!

Just for the record, I finally got myself a new cat. My girlfriend wouldn't let me have the red/orange haired one, because it was nuts (obviously the one I wanted. He was gonna be named Axl...of course)

We finally settled on a 5 month old black cat.

I wanted to name it Slash (obviously...it's black). She said no.

I suggested Izzy. She went into this incredibly long winded story about how she used to have a cat named Izzy. Nothing to do with GnR, but for her, the name was SOOOOOO cute.

So it wasn't gonna happen.

Then she says "Well, you could call it Duff, and I could just tell everyone it's named after Duff beer."

I know what you're thinking. "RazZ, shouldn't a cat named Duff be blonde?"

Well....here's the thing...

a) Duff used to dress in all black.

b) There was no way in hell I was gonna call the cat "Steven", "Adler", "Popcorn", or any other reference to the original drummer. Sorry, I dig the guy and all, but it ain't happenin'.

c) I asked the kid (RE:http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/board/index.php?topic=17806.msg305417#msg305417..man..I rock) if we should name that cat Slash, Izzy, of Duff. He got a little twinkle in his eye as he picked the name. And I could even see it later in the day, as we watched the Tokyo Dome DVD. He'd point at the screen, then the cat that was terrified of the psychotic kid he was forced to live with, and say "My Duff".

So, in closing...

The kid's happy...
The wife hates the name...
It's named after someone from the Gunners...

SO GET OFF MY BACK ALREADY!!

Wait...why did I mention this again? I don't think anyone was actually arguing with me about naming my cat Duff.

Oh well. We'll just keep this post here, and refer to it at a later date if necessary.

P.S. Jarmo, I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but it's worth repeating.

Get a spell check in this forum man. It's a royal pain in the arse having to load up a program like Dreamweaver or Microsoft Word, just to make sure I don't make myself look like a jackass with the grammar of a 6 year old.

Not that a spell check can help that much, but still....it'd be helpful.

My 13 year old cat is named Duff. Duff's mother was named Axl. I had a dog years ago named Izzy. My aunt had a cat named slash. Back in 1995, there was a stray cat living outside my house, and I lured him to the door with food and pushed him in the house. I never let him out again. I named him Dizzy. Duff and Axl got along with Dizzy pretty good. Unfortunately, Dizzy died in 1997 from a tooth abcess.

Now, if only that were true about another Dizzy, we wouldn't have to deal with shit like "Silk Worms". Sorry, but out of the entire GnR camp, past, present, and future, I really wish that Dizzy would drive himself off a cliff, with Matt Sorum passed out in the back seat.

That's a sweet story. I'm sorry he died so soon.

I think Buckethead's departure has something to do with the hold up. They've got to find a new lead guitarist. That can't be easy.

I just dont get everyone's fascination with Madagascar. Its ok, but definitely not a 'big gun'. It has a generic feel to it. The studio version might redeem it, but I wouldn't bet any money on it. I wouldn't be surprised if Madagascar isn't on the album. If Axl has 20 'big guns' like everyone says he does, Madagascar does NOT appear on CD. It might be a b-side or soundtrack material. I think the only song almost guaranteed to be on the album is The Blues. As much as I love the song CD, it didn't get a huge buzz from GNR fans, so he might leave it off the album. All I ask for from Axl is no filler on CD. Even if he only has 7 or 8 'Big Guns', I would rather have just that, instead of an album of 7 great songs and 8 songs of filler. I just want his absolute best work. Axl's redemption would be the story of the decade.

:love:Madagascar love holds a special place in my heart, and I believe it will become a true GNR classic.  It's powerful as hell, and I'm a sucker for great lyrics.  MLK was a true American hero and one of the greatest orators of our time.  There's a man who had to deal with real adversity.  The quotes are unbelievably powerful and a great accoutrement to Axl's gut-wrenching vocals.  Have ya ever felt like a 2nd-class citizen?  I know I have.  I think everyone can identify with that no matter what their background.  My early bet is The Blues garners the most commercial success.  Maddy becomes a cult-favorite ala Estranged, and IRS "studio version" is amongst the best "big guns."

Try living with people mocking Axl every day to your face, just because they don't get him.

Sounds like they do get him, & you're the one who doesn't.

And 3 years? Dude, you haven't even come close to suffering like the rest of us have.

Try hearing about Slash and Duff leaving.

Try going to the 2002 tour only to watch it all go up in smoke.

Try living with people mocking Axl every day to your face, just because they don't get him.

And try dealing with all of those Velvet F'n Revolver fans that sold Axl up the river just because they could jump on that lil media whores bandwagon.

Believe me. I've lived it, been through it, and I'm getting fed up.

This statement stands out to me... All the other stuff is nothing new that I have heard before on this forum and others that I have posted on.? ?Just because one is a VR fan doesn't mean they sold Axl down the river.? ? Psst...if he doesn't get his shit together soon, down the river he just may be BUT that has nothing to do with, loving VR or going to their shows or buying their stuff.? ?When Axl has something for us to buy, to see, to read, to support fully then the VR fans will come back to Axl.?

?I am a huge VR fan and when Axl, if Axl releases this album then, I will be right there for him and his band.? I am here now, supporting him, I agree whole heartedly with you that the wait is rediculous already.? Side note, I have been a fan since 1987 and been waiting since 1999 for this.? That really doesn't matter does it, the point is most of us are pissed off about the wait and want it to end.
