i dont think this thread has been cre8d b4. n e ways, i got heard Kings of Leon album Aha shake heartbreak (sumthing like that) and i think its absolutely fantastic compared to a lot of the music scene. there are some tracks that r a bit weak like the bucket but songs like King of the rodeo and Four kicks r sum of the coolest songs i've eva hurd. theyr very different compared 2 wot i've hurd. has n e 1 else hurd them?

Yep, they're my joined favourite new band out at the moment, (with The Strokes). Aha Shake Heartbreak is a great album, but personally, I prefer the first album (Youth and Young Manhood) it has a more raw sound than Aha Shake Heartbreak, and the songs are more, for lack of a better word heavy than Aha Shake Heartbreak. I'll be seein them in August with The Pixies, but I'm just goin for the Kings!

Ive heard one album, cant remember which one, but it was fantastic...unique laid back style they have and they rock...so would you recommend going to see them live?

Haven't actually seen them live yet, but I've heard pretty good things. I'll post up what I think in here when I see 'em in August.

i've listened to a few of there albums a good ten or fifteen times and i don't get it whatsoever. if i want to hear someone mumble incomprehensible lyrics i'll listen to fifty cent. not that i'd listen to him.

I didn't like them at first either but then one day, it hit me and I got it.  It's nice southern fried rock.

the best thing about them is the unique sound they hav. the lead singa has an extremely unique voice and the funny thing i've no idea wot theyr saying 1/2 the time. o well, it sounds gr8. theyr also unlike other typical rock bands.

Well, finally seen Kings live. It was a hell of a show, I was right up the top and had a pretty good view of the stage. They played almost all their songs, and certainly all my favourites. The sounded all most exactly the same as they do on record, anyone considering seeing them should definitely go.

Has anyone else noticed that the Kings of Leon drummer bears a strong resemblance to the Finkster. See the clip for "I'll be there". Same glasses!

Been listening to the album Because of the Times past few weeks, first time I have EVER heard anything by this band and I LOVE it.  I can just drift off and get lost in this album, really is amazing stuff and I will definately be delving into their back catalogue, tracks like Knocked Up, On Call and McFearless are classic tunes, definately in my Top 10 albums of the past 5 years.

I'm surprised this thread doesn't get more activity, this band really are fantastic.

Watched the Glastonbury performance on tv last night, great stuff, reinforced my love for this band, really want to see 'em live now.

Because of the Times is still one of my fave albums of the moment, I have a tendancy to overkill albums like, well I have a short attention span with them maybe, or play them too much but with albums I really like I can play them to the point of burnout (Yes, Appetite for Destruction I mean you) but this album is showing no signs of that.  I only started listenings to their previous album for the first time yesterday, great stuff! And a new album is due in a few months I do believe, and to think they are meant to be more loved here in England than in their homeland of the USA, what's wrong with you guys! Tongue

Get your finger out and track down the new album, Only By The Night. You can stream it for free on Last.fm, so no excuse.
