I missed that out because I love that album!

Well you've mentioned On Call by name, so I guess that's one chorus you remember  Wink

That would be, because its the only song ive ever actually liked by them. I was hoping they would have stuff of the same quality when i checked into them.

Something i find lacks with all these indie band.  They are toned down. Tame. Thats why its "indie rock"

Actually KOL are on RCA Records which last time I checked wasn't an indie label.

And the new album is absolutely awesome. I've been listening to "Cold Desert" on repeat.

You should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me.

I know what you're saying I just think the definition of indie music has gotten rather broad. 15 years ago it actually meant bands on an independent label. If Kings is "indie" music then what isn't cause I think it sounds fairly mainstream (at least this latest album).

Exactly, your point saying it sounds mainstream is why im fed up with indie bands.

Because there are like 1000 copy cat bands out there in the charts.

Bands trying to emulate KOL, or Razorlight, or the Kooks. And im just sick and tired of the whole scene here in England. Its been aroudn a few years now, its become so stagnant and boring. I was never a fan of KOL but before they at least had there own thing going on. The newer stuff sounds like alot of other bands, aswell as there image they took on with teh short hair and cardigans bullshit.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. But Razorlight and the Kooks aren't even on the radar in the States so KOL sounds somewhat original to these kids. Personally I just like the songs. Actually anything that isn't rap or R&B is a welcome change on the charts. England seems to have a better taste for rock n' roll than we do.

just cause indie rock is more popular here than the states.

Doesnt mean england is open armed to rock n roll XD. Its quite bad here as of late, alot of manufactured pop artists as per usual in the charts, n the usual whorish pop singer featuring some random rapper with a crazy name.

I believe on popular song recently had a guy called "tynchy strider" in it. lmao

You are aware that the pop charts have always been dominated by pop artists?

So, I saw Aha Shake Heartbreak at Best Buy for $8, so I decided to check it out. Man was I disappointed. I've heard so much praise for this band, and by the end I was left wondering why. The singer's voice is absolutely ridiculous; I honestly can't place that accent anywhere on the map. The songs were bland and uninspired. What the hell am I missing?

They're ok. Sounds like a good bar band.
