For the longest time (well 2 years), GNR has been my #1 favorite band, but recentely with the inactiveness of the band they were overtaken. My new favorite band is the one, the only, the godfathers of punk, the Ramones.

It all started back in September, when I was getting kinda bored with GNR and decided to listen to some other stuff.

Then, around the time of Johnny Ramones's death, I found lying around my house, an assorted bunch bunch of ramones stuff (The Studio Albums,2003 Tribute CD, and Life Styles of Ramones Music Video compilation) and for the past few months have become a much bigger fan overtaking my GNR interest for least a little while.

I mean it's pretty sad when a band with 3 members dead and who have been completely inactive since 1996 could be much more active this year(With the DVD release of "RAW" and plans for other sets) than a living breathing Axl Rose could be.

History-wise GNR is surely my all-time favorite band, but in reality for the last 6 or 7 years it's been Arcturus.

I can't say I have a #1 band or #2.

I have a bunch of bands I really like, obviously GN'R is on that list.

GN'R is the reason I listen to rock music, and also the reason why this site exist so they're very special to me in that way. But other bands who I really like and listen to a lot are Pearl Jam, Mark Lanegan, Nine Inch Nails...

Well the Original GnR is my all time favorite band. But even with the new gnr that band doesn't exist anymore. So I don't know if they count as my favorite band or if theres a difference but bands still active I would have to say Bad religion is up there. Uhm Alkaline Trio are really good and of course velvet revolver.. Other than that I end up listening to much older music like early ACDC, early aerosmith, early zeppelin. Stones, misfits, ramones, queen, STP.

I don't really have any #2's or #3's and so on, but Guns will always come first of course. no matter how often or not I actually listen to them, they'll still be my favorite.

Electric Frankenstein.

Because, no matter what, they'll always support rock n' roll, and be rock n' roll. They might be fat americans, but they resemble everything good with punk rock n' roll. A band not scared to stand out, to call out all the posers, and one of the few american rock n' roll bands that can play outside the US.

But mostly, their energy does it for me. Not just energy onstage, but off. How a band can write so many cracking songs in the 90s (13 albums), sell half a million records, stay true and let's face it, Jim Foster and after him Steve Miller (just listen to the Cherry 13 album) are probably two of the best guitarists in the world.

I'd put Dog Toffee/DtX up there two, but I've met both these bands and am aware of how hard they work and push the limits whilst other bands sell watered down bullshit to dicky teenage indie poopsters, that don't buy anything unless the Sun says so.

Rock n' roll is alive, and it's stronger than any amount of money, or any trend, or any stupid kid who thinks otherwise.

I go through stages where I like other bands but I always end up coming back to G'NR.

Right now, I like Tool and Black Sabbath.

Before AFD came out, my favorites were AC/DC, Black Sabbath, U2, Led Zep...  but, once AFD came out, I realized that nothing came close to them.  Cool
