As for the Jihad, yes, some are into it for religious reasons, their crusade as they call it, but few.
Jihad is actully against the teachings of Islam. Just thought i might clerify that up.?
Actually holy war (Jihad) is allowed or, if u wish to be technical, it is not prohibited, jihad or 'struggle' is clearly open to interpretation but allows for such things to occur, it comes down to personal interpretation as to how far u are allowed to go, but doesn't prohibit armed religious struggle
The prophet Muhammed embarked on them to secure lands for Islam, but then again, was that conquest or self defence?
Also 'jihad' can mean anything from a personal internal struggle for faith to actual war so i would be careful claiming its not allowed - u leave urself open to an easy counter
Of course, as with all religious texts it depends which bits u give weight to - the Bible can be used to support crusades and the Old Testament is full of wars against infidels
What is prohibited is the murder of civilians - but of course, you can get round that by justifying it as a jihad.....
