GN'R sounded their best with Izzy without a doubt. I could really notice the difference after he left. Gilby seems really cool and it would have been interesting to hear an original GN'R with him involved. Listening to those new Izzy samples, reminded me how amazing it could be if Izzy were involved with Axl again

I prefer Gilby, he seems such a nice guy (he trully is). He wasn't though enough bad boy for Guns N' Roses. So what?

Stradlin all of the way. I like Gilby, for the situation he came into and the little time he had he did a damn fine job of filling Stradlin's shoes though. At the time those were pretty damn big shoes to fill . Out of GnR, i like both equally both have put out so damn fine solo material. I always wanted to see Gilby and Izzy share the stage and do a few songs together. Both are friends it seems maybe one day we will see some sort of collaboration, in a live setting or on an album.

I'd go for Izzy, much more important, important part in many of the greatest tracks.

You got a point there I forgot spaghetti and the Live era records but the first is only covers and the 2nd are just concerts of GNR songs that were written in the Izzy time right?

GN'R recorded many songs during UYI sessions. Seven songs that later went on Spaghetti were also recorded at this time:
Ain't It Fun Attitude Black Leather Down On The Farm I Don't Care About You New Rose
...and probably Hair Of The Dog, cause this song was played in early years by Hollywood Rose so I think it's the seventh.
When they were recording SI? they put Gilby's guitar in place of Izzy's.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think it was something that steve adler said one day cause he was so stoned, so he wakes up and exclaim: "The spaghetti Incident?". They all laughed Feel free to correct me cause that's the only thing I've ever heard about the name.

Spaghetti was a name they used for drugs, one day Steven walked in screaming where his spaghetti was which the rest took.?Everybody laughed except Axl cause he didn't know they called it Spaghetti.
Then when the Adler court thing happened the Spaghetti thing was brought up there hence the Spaghetti Incident.

I prefer Izzy for his contributions to GnR, I mean, he wrote a lot of their best songs. However to go on solo material I'd have to say Gilby.
So Izzy for GnR, Gilby for solo work.

Yeah, I totally agree Jamie. Izzy was a huge part of GN'R, and without him the band was really missing something. But Gilby's solo stuff is better. Pawnshop Guitars is a great album.

I would definately have to say Izzy - a talented guitarist and brilliant songwriter. After Axl and (very closely) behind Slash he was the most important member in the band, but that is just my opinion.
Having said that Gilby was the perfect replacement!

Izzy Stradlin, no doubt.. I think Gilby is better of on his own.. I never really enjoyed his time in Guns N' Roses but I think his solo albums are cool..
