slashs grandad + the slash story

could anybody tell me anything about slashs grandad.is he still alive?wheres he from?anything.the reason i ask is i went for a medical in work today.i work in north wales UK.and the nurse was from staffordshire england.she looked at my GNR tshirt and laughed so i asked why and she told me how she was slashes grandads carer for a few years.she said even if u didnt know he was slashes grandad u could tell anyway coz he had the hair (cool).she went on to tell me how she was a bit miffed at slash coz he never/rarely visited him.does anyone know if they were close or not?anything would be appriecated ...cheers...

To keep things off-topic...why was Slash born in England?  I know his mother is black...is she English too?  Is his father English, or is there some other reason he was born and raised there?  And when did he come to the US?

I thought Slash was from Nerezine.
A small 200 people big town on the Croat island of Losinj,  a very poular touristic destination.
He played well guitar and had a bit of sadomazo (remember he was once found with handcuffs in an London hotel naked back in the 90's,  which apperantly was a reason for the end of his marriage...) in him,  so he wanted to go badly to USA and find nuts like Axl and Scott Weiland who had great stage presence but not too phantastic vocal abilities,  but Slash managed to cope with them due to their great writing talents (Axl).
However,  as he was young,  gifted guitar player with no permanent job (he was a fisher from time to time),   he had little to non chances of getting US visa.
He thought to himself,  due to their phantastic foreign office relations,  Blair and Bush relations are almost excellent.
Everything thoose two do,   has great feedback in world and brings them loads of sympathy among their nation.
That also had great effect on GB citizens so they have the privilage of going to USA visa less  as one of the few European citizens.
Knowing his talent would end up in smoke,   Sale Hudsunovic,  better known as Saul Hudson aka Slash,   gave up his croatian citizenship and went to UK embacy claiming he has an grandad in Wales who from time to time visits Stoke on trent when he passes through London but has an grandmother in LA that is often visited by his grandfather during international holidays.
The first time he visited his grandmother with his grandfather,   he was pulled in an dark street by one shorter guy with a funny hairspray hairdo who threatend to kill him unless Sale gives him some money cause he just came from Indiana half an hour ago when getting off the bus he was mobbed by 3 afro americans down to the last dime.
He said 'I'll write song about them and make them feel bad!'.
Sale said,  'hey,  I play guitar!'.   So they teamed up and we got one of the greatest bands of R'n'R history - Guns N Roses  (1985 - 93).
That is the story I heard.
I belive it.   Or maybe someone heard something completely different?

Back to topic;  I'm not so sure about his mums origins, but i know his Dad is British.  Both parents worked in the music industry, his Mum designed clothes for people like David Bowie. And his Dad designed album covers for people like Neil Young and a few others who i can't remember now.

I remember reading that they moved before Slash got into his teens  hence the accent. 

As far as his Grandad though, i have no idea. It's very possible that his Dad's roots are from Wales or one of the Celtic clans.
