Quote
The diagrams in The Shape of Song display musical form as
a sequence of translucent arches. Each arch connects two
repeated, identical passages of a composition. By using
repeated passages as signposts, the diagram illustrates
the deep structure of the composition. .... More complex
compositions create more intricate diagrams.

This is actually a very interesting find, thanks felix

looks like it identifys identical notes in a song. Obviously Estranged is hugely different.

Click on the link and try your own tunes, pretty interesting

interesting. I don't know what this sharp really indicates.

Having a browse through other songs, I find the one of Bach sharps has a speck of similarity to this one.

It's kinda symetric, not as mathematical as some of Bach's works, maybe like some of Hendrix. Don't know too many composers who did this...

But the minute you start to think about it, you take away something from the song.

Just enjoy the music (both when you MAKE and LISTEN to it) and don't think too much about it.

It's a beautiful, livid and inspiring piece of music, that's all that matters.

That's really beautiful I think! The fact that music can make such beautiful VISUAL and real images really is awesome! I just looked at the Steve Miller Band one for Fly Like An Eagle... JEEZ! That made me go listen to the song! I wanted to hear where all the huge loops were comin' from!

BTW, I think Axl would love the MIDI file of Estranged! hihi Jeez! Its half 4 AM!! I'm going to bed!
