Remember this is a thread about Axl and Syd Barrett, not OIAM or racism.

Look, I am a teacher and teach kids of all color, so I am not racist.? Not that you said I was but to just clarify.? I can see how the jersey thing is a stereotype but in the grand scheme of things is it a battle worth fighting?? It would be like me getting upset about black comedians and all the whites can't dance stuff.? It's not a big deal until you make it a big deal.?

which is why I am not going to try to explain it; but I hate to hear all that stuff, "Axl is trying to be black b/c he wears jersey's" I think its ridiculous

and I didn't call anyone racist.......ignorant maybe(not necessarily you in particular), but not racist
You sure are sensitive..

and it doesn't bother me if Axl is tryin to be black or not or if Michael Jackson is trying to be white.

I mean, I got worse things to worry about than those.

Axl is not trying to be black. He is embracing more of an LA style. I t isn`t a racist issue.

What does this have to do with the topic?

Yeah, this thread got hijacked. It went from Axl-Syd comparisons to a thing about race. A HTGTH member who is black was offended by some of the posts, but people just kept on posting about it. Very rude and distasteful. I expected the topic to get locked, but for some reason, it didnt.

In the spirit of covering great rock songs ( Live & Let Die, Knockin on Heavens door), I`d love to see him cover something by Floyd. Fittingly, maybe a Syd - era one.

Hopefully we will see new material soon.....I just hope the next time we see Axl is not walking to the grocery store in his pajamas in 10 years.
