Here Today...

« on: July 04, 2005, 09:46:40 AM »

I always was pretty sure Izzy wrote this song on 117 Degrees about Axl...It sounds like he's talkin about Axl getting over Stephanie, and time has passed your an old man up on the hill sounds like Axl livin in the hills in malibu. Anyone else see what i'm thinkin?

"Bleedin"
(Izzy Stradlin)
She'd always be out late a drinkin
You'd always let it go down
Now she's gone, why ya bleedin...let it go

Ya gotta know better now you're older
This ain't the end of the world
So get off your ass and get over her
Let it go
Let it go

What ya dyin about, ya gotta let it go,
no need ta be crying for her man, come on now
You should know

Now time has passed, you're an old man
Way up there high on the hill
Back on the streets it ain't changed much
Yeah I know
Let it go

What ya dyin about, ya gotta let it go,
no need to be cryin for her man, come on now
You should know

I always thought that the lyrics to Slash Snakepits What Do You Want Top Be are about Axl.

Slash's Snakepit

"What Do You Want to Be"

Sour, this affliction
If it was me I'd have it fixed
And with everywhere you've been
You're much too old to be so naive

So what the hell do you want to be
Following the trends that never end
I can't stand the parties you attend
So what the hell do you want with me

Oh, you're so underground
Oh, ain't that swell
Well the word is on the street
You're collecting sympathy and
then you hide
And ya ain't been out in days
Will the sunshine burn your face
Preserve your precious skin
I'll go out, you stay in

What the hell do you want to be
Following the trends that never end
I can't stand the parties you attend
So what the hell do you want with me

Please don't feed the pigeons
Out of the same sad bag of tricks
I've heard it all a million times
You make me sicker than
the wine you drink

So if you think I need some help
Climb out of your own shell
It'll make you think

So what the hell do you want to be
Following the trends that never end
Why is it that I can't
stand your friends
So what the hell do you want with me
What the hell do you want to be
Following fashion in the sheets
Chasing every other flavor
of the week
So what the hell do you want from me

What do you want to be
What do you want to be
What do you want to be
What do you want from me
Looking for anyone who's somebody
What do you want from me
What do you want from me

Izzy is an amazing songwriter.....any1 know where I can get his solo stuff?

After Axl, Izzy my favorite member...he is just super laid back and cool and can put together a great tune...

there are lots of songs by izzy that can be interpreted as being about axl. I'd bet my last dollar that what do you want to be is about axl.

I've managed to get most of izzy's albums just by stumbling across them in stores. Be warned they're often ludicrously priced due to their obscurity; but well worth it.

They can be interpreted as being about anyone. Anyone could have such a time.
I think Izzy knows other ppl than Axl.
Sorry I'm still not convinced that the world is revolving around Axl.
Some songs Maybe.  yes
I think "A Fool on the hill" is about Axl too.

Izzy has a song called "Jump In Now" off of his "River" album that seems very very much influenced by Axl...

Are you lot really a bunch of losers who can't seem to dissassociate Axl with songs by other members?  I can't believe any of you really believe this stuff.

And how is "i hate the parties you attend" a 'gay' lyric?  Maybe the line says what it means ... like ... the guy singing can't stand the partying that the 3rd party does.

Jeez... hardly "i can't stand the hetrosexual parties you attend" is it?  Gay?  Good grief.  Grow up.

I remember reading "Behind the paint" it was an autobiography by Violent J from the ICP, and he had slash do some guitars for one of their albums. this was back in 97, and slash went on and on about how much of a fucking asshole axl was. Then he said "I wrote a whole album about Axl and he didnt even know it". peace

 You and I
 Have been playing this game
 For so damn long
 And I don't kow why
 These cards are too old
 So I'm gonna fold
 Bye Bye
 Bye Bye
 Bye Bye

Party's over and all our friends
 are gone
Was it something I said, did we hav
 too much fun
Guess you mised it, look around
It's never you who's to blame for
bringing everyone down

It's never you who's to blame
 For setting the stage
 You want it your way

 C'mon, C'mon, C'mon,
Why don't you take it away
 Take it away,
 Come on, take it away
 Take it away
 Take it away
 Take it away
Why don't you take it away
 Take it away

 Bad rumors goin' round
 Nothing said from my mouth
 Why would you think
 It's you
It's hitting too close to home now

 Is it me or you
 Who carries the weight
 To deal with your pain
And don't you hate it too
It smothers and drains all the same

 C'mon, Take it away
 Take it away
Why don't you take it away
 Take it away
Why don't you take it away
 Take it away
 C'mon, Take it away
 Take it away
 Take it away

 Chorus

 You and I
 Have been doin' the time
 For all of your crimes
 And I don't know why
 It don't make sense
It seems such a waste of time
 Bye Bye
 Bye Bye
 Bye Bye

 Chorus

Man, the best song written about Axl Rose was that SR71 song.  Anybody ever hear that one?  The chorus goes, "Where did you go, Axl Rose?"  And they play the Sweet Child riff in it.

Maybe it'll surprise some of you, but even Snakepit's Back and Forth Again is about Axl. Read the lyrics to know what Slash feels (felt) towards Axl and some of you will talk less shit.

Haven't found a link yet, but I got some more info on the song.  Its by the band SR-71.  The song is simply called "Axl Rose".  Its the opening track off their new album title "Here We Go Again".  Unfortunately the album was only released in Japan.  However you should have no problem finding it and downloading it.  That's how I got it.  Its really cool.  This reminds me...anybody else see that album called Reinventing Axl Rose?  The band its by was called Rise Against or something along those lines.  There's a song off the album of the same name.  The album cover is just a picture of Axl?  Anybody got any info on that one?

Not too sure about that one. Sounds like it might be until: "don't just sit there filing your nails"  Undecided

I always thought the new gnr lyrics were about Slash, duff and the other guys, anyway I think its just a matter of opinion or perception, it doesnt really matter anyway....
