Here Today... Gone Tomorrow

I luv it. Some guy on a message board telling me i must not be a true GnR fan! hihi

? I was definitely interested to see those VMA's, but it was plain as day to me that botaxl had become something completely different than the guy who used to front my favorite band. Different in a bad, pathetic, freaky way.
? It has also become clear to me JamesLofton that u really have no clue what u r talking about when u post & make sweeping, made-up? generalizations to make your arguements sound good. How do u know that most GNR fans lost interest when there was no new album to promote? If GNR fans are so interested in new songs, why did GH's sell so well? Why didn't all those people go out to see dick fortus & fink play SCOM? I wonder, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
?

your constant referances to "botaxl" makes you seem like a bitter, pathetic loser who is so disappointed that he can't have the old guns n' roses back so you desperately seek vengeance the only way you can, by resorting to name-calling on an internet message board. even then axl can't and won't hear you, so just take your bitterness somewhere else you sad, sad person.

I have been a "Guns N Roses" fan since '86 when my friend in CA (I now live in CA too) sent me a videotape of GnR at the Roxy. Saw the originals 7 times.  Best band ever, IMO.

Yeah I had some spine tingles seeing Axl again in '02.  But it was tempered with "what's up with his hair, his voice, and of course.. 'this isn't "Guns n Roses".  We've been through that argument on here so I won't get into it again.  I think the reason the tour sales were so slow is that it wasn't Guns n Roses, except by name.  It was Axl Rose touring and Axl Rose solo can't sell out 20,000 seat arenas anymore on old material.  If this new band, NU GNR, had a good new album, they could sell tickets on the basis of that.  But fans on here are in the minority.  Most old fans didn't know they were back, didn't care about the new band, and didn't even know who buckethead was.  Casual fans didn't know he was back and were shocked to see no Slash or Duff.  The average fan simply thinks Axl disappeared and doesn't know anything that is discussed on these boards.  Couple that with the fact that Axl no shows for the first show and you have poor ticket sales.

There are not many lead singers that could tour solo and sell out the arenas they used to with their old bands. Sting. Phil Collins. Bruce.  But not many, particularly when theyv'e been hiding for a decade, completely changed their look. lost some of their voice, and not released any new material.
