As most of you know, cds, movies, games, etc., are almost always released on a Tuesday. I have a question. Is there a specific day of the week when an announcement for a release is made? If there is a specific date, this could immediately eliminate some of the bullshit rumors. As you guys know, occasionally someone will post that CD's release has just been announced. If they post that on a day that isn't a typical announcement day, we could immediately disregard their comments.

Gn'R are not a typical rock band. In regards to release date rumours, don't belive any of them? Wink

jameslofton...this is a great question.  I've wondered about this one myself.  I guess I've always assumed stuff like this happens on Monday, but I have NO friggin clue.

Axl doesn't release statements in real time, only in imaginary or Eucliean time.

I think release days are different in most countries, If CD was a wordwide release on a certain day, people on one side of the world will get it sooner than others.  I hope you catch my drift.

I hope the release date is announced on a Friday afternoon. That way:

A. I might actually get some work done that week (if its a monday I'm fucked)
B. Can get really pissed and have a great weekend.

no, there is not a standard day releases are announced. and many methods are used by record labels to generate a buzz. so usually the "unofficial" release date is known in advance of the "official" announcement.

but gnr are a very unique situation. if there ever is any gnr activity (cd release, single release, tour, etc.), i would expect anything but the norm. for example, i wouldn't be at all surprised if the album came out on another day besides tuesday.

Sandman, I have thought that same thing before. Just because Tuesday is the 'normal' day for releases, products have been released on other days. Several video games have been released on other days of the week. Halloween would be a kick ass day to release CD, regardless of what day it is.
