Here Today...

« on: January 06, 2005, 10:28:38 PM »

Hi I'm new, I don't believe this has ever been a topic, so my question is who're the known celebrity GNR fans in the public eye?  Actors?  Current musicians?
These people come to mind for me; Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Ahhhnuld, and NWA I believe (they had an appetite for destruction song, but the lyrics don't have much to do with the band...).

Howard Stern (was/might still be, all joking aside)
Star Jones-Reynolds ( Shocked)

There's a baseball player who always has GNR played when he's playing, he's a huge fan. I forget his name...

Ricky Martin had his top 10 videos of all time on MTV once (back when he was popular) and for #2 he had November Rain (#1 was his own "Livin La Vida Loca" video). Right after talking about the video he was like "Come back to us Axl...."

Sum 41 and a bunch of other young punk bands cite GNR as an influence. Days of the New and Buckcherry spoke highly of GNR.

Ozzy and Sharon like GNR. I think I read a quote where Ozzy was talking about axl and said "I love his music and his voice but the man has serious problems."  Embarrassed

Melissa Auf der Mauer (solo artist, former bassist of Hole/Smashing Pumpkins)--said she loves singing "SCOM" at Kareoke (and she also said she likes gnr)

I remember reading Hole did a cover of SCOM, and courtney Love said, "we miss axl"...but who knows if she was sarcastic...

alice cooper (mentioned numerous times that AFD is the best album of all time.  and that he wished that he had come up with those songs himself)

arnold schwarzeneger perhaps??

sabastian bach from skid row, I'm guessing

sandra bernhart (comedian)---well she did mention she thinks axl's hot (on vh1 sexy/bad boy countdown)---so I'm assuming she likes the band (??)

oh and me of course (can you guess which famous celebrity I am??)----just kiddin! Tongue
