This band , obviously is doing this to get some "press" for their album/band by using the name and taking the piss from axl. Oh well.

I dont think axl can really do anything to stop this either.  Huh

desperately striving for attention by using another band's album name just to provoke just shows how pathetic this band must be. don't give it too much attention, they don't deserve it. this is the lamest and most pathetic shit i've read in a long time. but then again, no one knows who the hell these idiots are so just try to ignore it. they ain't worth the attention, nor any association with guns n' roses.

Umm, didnt Axl stop Offspring legally? He used the Chinese Democracy name for the tour in 2002 and for shirts and shit, and the logo reveal. Didnt that legally entitle him to the name, so Offspring said it wasnt worth it when they got the legal papers sent to them?

If Offspring couldn't use it, how could these douche's.

Now, the flipside. As a new band that pretty much has no chance of going anywhere (this being a dog eat dog business), you do whatever the fuck you have to to be heard (generally assuming your music and image is good). This being a publicity stunt, is pathetic as shit.

...but I understand.

I hope this album does come out under the CD name. At this point things like this are the only way we will get any sort of news or comments from Axl. What do you expect? This album has become such a joke in the media and in the music industry.

who knows, maybe they haven't even heard about Axl's album, it's a good chance.
but if they're doing it to fuck with him then it's just plain stupid!

Wasn't UYI slated for release under a psudoname back in the day?  Meaning, before they announced a released date with UYI, GNR entered it as greatest hits instead of the new album.  Could they just be picking a band name until they announce an official release date?

That's why I was wondering if it was a new band or an established one.  But from what I can see it appears to be a band that's been around awhile, so I think its unlikely that they would pick a real band to set up a release date.

Yep,
Judging from the link Saul posted, they've released at least 2 albums.
Has anyone ever heard of this band?  Are they well known or is this their first album?
No.
But for this thread....
They're no offspring. I guess No one cares.
And probably this will be the last time I hear of the band.

it's sad but also unless axl owns the name it's just an idea.. For all the time he has been gone it doesn't matter what the name is when it comes out again... When he comes calling with a new gnr album people will take notice..

I looked on HMV canada website and they don't have that information posted there. They are teamed with Amazon.ca (who don't have it listed either

Also their website doesn't have a new album listed to come out this year.

By the preview tracks for the album called "Aztec disipline" on cduniverse they sound like simon and garfunkle or something

Plenty of songs have had the same title, and I'm sure a couple of albums do too. So it not big deal. As long as our CD is released, than I'm happy. I dont give a fuck about these guys

Several months after announcing their album would be called "Chinese democracy", Dexter Holland said it was only a joke and that they never intended to pursue it any further. So who knows, maybe the GN'R legal team didn't have to serve them any papers.

I have the same opinion as N.I.B : considering different albums can have the same title, I don't think this release will have any effect on CD, especially since it's an unknown band.
