Am I the only one to think that Slash duff and matt, without Axl, have "nothing special" as a band?

no u'r not. watching that i only though how much i love gnr and why VR is nothing like it. i love them as musicians and specially for what they did in the past. but what' they're doing right now is not my cup of tea.
the video itself had some good shots. but nothing that will keep me thinking about it for 2 long. prob their worst video.
and the song is way to boring. doesn't sound like gn'r to me. but they are a different band and it's cool they're having their own sound. it just doesn't do much for me...

It's cool to have your own opinion on VR and I respect it but they aren't ever going to sound like GNR..  I don't think they ever wanted to and if they ever did, it would be the opposite of opinions, people would start saying they sound too much like GNr they should have their own sound.  I personally like the VR sound, it's different now a days to have a great Rock N Roll band that kicks my ass when I blast them in my car or at home.

i know they are 2 different bands. and that's cool that they have a new style that sets them apart from whatever they did in the past. but from a slash fan poin't of view. and i started playing cuz of him, i dunno it doesn't sound the same, nor right. some songs are way to diferent frm the slash i'm used to, such as this one, and i can't help to feel sad for this change in the way he aproaches the new music.

eh maybe it's not suppose to be centering around him like snakepit did or gnr did in guitar rock.. maybe when people will think vr they won't be like known for solos that are long, they will just be known as a rocking band.. I am not let down because I know slash can make them longer or do other things, there must be a reason why he isn't..

Maybe the reason he isn't doing long, long solo's or sounding like he did in GNR is because he didn't want to take that from GNR.? I think when you were in a band as big as GNR was and now you are trying to be your own band, he is doing everything he can not to portray or bring anything from GNR into VR.? I don't know much about guitar playing and I am not going to try to say I do.? I agree that some of his solo's with GNR were absolutely amazing but I still think that he is playing awesome guitar, it just may be in a different way.

Did u watch Metallica's "some kind of monster" dvd?

Guitar solos are passe or what have u and no longer fit the radio format, so Slash has to dumb down his solo's and make em short and sweet to fit into radio.

Not a chance.  Since when did Slash give a fuck about radio?  That's what producers are for.  Remember the Sweet Child O' Mine single?  No solo at the end on the radio edit.  Some of the solo's were there, but they were severely cut down.  Slash is writing how he feels like writing nowadays, and there's nothing bad about it.

http://velvetrevolver.nbalive.org/velvet_revolver-come_on_come_in.asf

video is easier above..

I fucking loved it.. The movie twined in and the concept was pretty cool... I hope the video gets some airtime because it is set up as a movie single,, Slash sounded really good, the band played heavy... I wish scott didn't say anything during the solo but hell I really like the combo of the vid n song.. peace

Thanks for the better link. Couldn't get the first (original) to play, but this one  works fine. I like the song--great rythym and bass guitar melody.

I have seen it again... and again  and again... and damn, that is exactly how a band must look, and sound...

Yes man, by now im just waiting for a new album, and I recall the words of smash mouth's frontman, who said "They (slash, duff, matt, the guys) are better without him (Axl)" and that is right...

I have watched the video quite a few times now and I can't say enough how it absolutely rocks and for them to put this song together so quick and the vid so quick...  I'm loving the absolute rock n roll coming out of this band. ok

Certainly you are not the only person who thinks that man, but to deny their individual talents is a blasphemy....
so far they have had success by theirselves and that would'nt  have happened without their huge talents... and stage presence...

I don't know if this is based on the number of viewings or if they're just selected by MTV, but VR are #2 under "Hot Videos" on the mtv.com home page.

Its obvious that VR are a band that just takes a few listens to really dig something.

first two listens I hated CB, now over a year later I still listen to it very regularly

I hated Come On Come In first two listens and Now I pray it is on the album

I love this song, it kicks so much ass now and sounds nothing like Slither, I dont know where that came from.

Verdict that fair and true:

Sounds like Dirty Little Thing because Scott keeps on changing his vocal stylings, it does not work well. The chorus is weak. Slash's solo (whats up with that?!?) is terrible, I mean really awful. The video looks like the Switchfoot video for the Spiderman soundtrack, its really nothing special. It's also very cheesy, whats up with the backround? And why do they show us the inside of the amps? Its just plain bad

Well you aren't very good.

/the chorus is weak? Why?
Who cares about the fucking Video? It's the song that matters.
I hate Videos and I think they ruin the song as a whole, but this video is pretty cool.
The amp layout is sweet.

This is Slashs next best solo since Slither.
