Top wrestlers Randy Orton, Charles Haas, Jr., Adam "Edge" Copeland, Robert "Booker T" Huffman, Shane Helms, Mike Bucci, Anthony Carelli, John "Johnny Nitro" Hennigan, Darren "William Regal" Matthews, Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson and Chavo Guerrero have all been suspended
This hasn't been confirmed.
This list is only who the "New York Daily" newspaper suspects what superstars have been suspended.  Roll Eyes

Kennedy has admitted that he done steroids on the indy scene but hasn't done them in his time in the WWE. Lets face it, he doesn't exactly have a body chiseled out of stone.

Jeff Hardy - Not likely, he has quite a gut too.

Chavo - Can't see it after all thats happened to his Uncle Eddie. Before 2005, maybe, but not recently.

Lets look at suspects: **Note** These are just my opinons on who the 10 could be. This is not an official statement. Wink

1. Batista
2. Khali
3. Mysterio (Although with the recent weight gain he could likely be off them now, although that isn't the case)
4. Orton - since the Benoit/drug scandal his shoulders have minimised in size dramtically.
5. Lashley
6. Edge - although he admited to taking "prescribed" steroids for rehabing his neck
7. Booker - At age 42 could very well be intimidated to keep his mass up
8. Masters - his 2005 muscle mass has "mysteriously" returned.
9. Morrison - The guys got an 8 pack. Nuff' said.
10. Marcus Cor Von

Thats a pretty scary list if even half of it is accurate.  nervous
They complain about ratings but I guess they have to take a stand somewere....

We'll soon see I guess.

From what i remember, WWE suspensions now generally only affect house show appearances, many recent suspensions have not involved missing tv time.  And if names aren't being released 'til Nov 1st then surely they aren't taking 'em off tv cos if they were we'd just figure it out.  The positive is this could be the kick WWE needs to go back to promoting the "wrestlers".  And looking at that list of slash666's even if it ain't wholly accurate i still wanna know how every time, how the smurf does Batista not get mentioned...

your in luck:

WWE did not release the names of those suspended. A source close to the investigation said that WWE was told that the following wrestlers were among the clients of one of the pharmacies under investigation, Signature of Orlando: Funaki, Dave Bautista, Adam "Edge" Copeland, Chris "Masters" Mordetsky, John "Johnny Nitro" Hennigan, and Shane Helms

Funaki?  Shocked

ESPN.com has posted up an article on their website regarding the WWE suspensions, as well as the list of wrestlers that were clients of Signature Pharmacy in Orlando. ESPN has named a few more WWE wrestlers not listed in the New York Daily News article that was done earlier today. The names new to the list include Shoichi Funaki, Chris Mordetsky (Masters), and the one and only Dave Bautista (Batista). Adam "Edge" Copeland, John Hennigan (Morrison), and Shane Helms were also listed again as being clients of Signature Pharmacy. They also listed three deceased wrestlers in Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Brian "Crush" Adams.

I know, it's about DAMN time.  hihi

wasnt it last summer around this same time that wwe had to strip RVD and deal with his and Sabu's drug issue ... if Johnny Nitro - yup that guy - i refuse to use that new lame gimic name that dont make sense - real name my a$$  - is among the suspended who the heck is going to get the title and who is left in ecwwe???

of course CM Punk shold get title but i wonder if wwe will push his no drug motto. i woulda wanted loved CM teaming w/ RVD, then major heel turn by rvd which gets us : CM vs RVD .... maybe they'll do this with the new druggies before they get suspended.

In an interview on On the Record with Greta Van Susteren earlier today, WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt said that two more wrestlers may be suspended tomorrow. He said they have to talk with the talents to confirm information first before making a decision. McDevitt aso added that WWE independently confirmed all information it received from the DA before suspending the ten wrestlers earlier today. According to McDevitt, the ten suspensions are without pay and will last for either thirty or sixty days (depending on whether it was a first or second offense). Regarding why WWE aren't revealing names today of those suspended, McDevitt said, "It's a fair notice issue to us." Although he also noted that talent has been told that they will be publicly identified in the future should they violate the policy. "We do that in the belief that it will give greater transparency to the program and hopefully operate as a deterent to anybody who wishes to engage in this activity," McDevitt said. Furthermore, McDevitt said that it's not just a WWE problem. He said Signature Pharmacy was sending drugs to policemen, firemen, and pro athletes. He said that he heard that the NFL will be releasing names of players linked to the scandal in a few days.

In an interesting note, four of the five wrestlers that consisted of Team Rated-RKO at last year's Survivor Series have been listed as being clients of Signature Pharmacy. The team consisted of Edge, Randy Orton, Johnny Nitro, Mike Knox and Gregory Helms. The only wrestler on the team not outed as of today is Mike Knox. Team Rated-RKO lost to Team DX in a clean sweep at the pay-per-view event.

To recap, all in all, 20 past and present WWE wrestlers were listed as being clients of the busted Signature Pharmacy in Orlando. Of the 20 listed, 15 of them are currently contracted to WWE. Three are deceased (Brian Adams, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero), one was recently released (Sylvain Grenier), and another wrestler was on the verge of being signed this week, if he hasn't already (Johnny Stamboli).

While not 100% official, the following ten wrestlers listed appear to be the wrestlers most likely to have been suspended by WWE after Sports Illustrated revealed that every single one of them purchased drugs over the Internet through Signature Pharmacy after the institution of the WWE Wellness Policy in February 2006 - a clear violation of the policy. WWE suspended 10 wrestlers today based upon information received in the Signature bust, though not necessarily these wrestlers. Here is SI's list again:

Charlie Haas - Purchased drugs as late as January 2007.

Chavo Guerrero - Purchased drugs as late as May 2006.

Edge - Purchased drugs as late as February 2007.

Funaki - Purchased Somatropin in March 2006.

Gregory Helms - Purchased drugs as late as February 2007.

John Morrison - Purchased five different drugs as late as February 2007 .

Mr. Kennedy - Purchased three drugs between October 2006 and February 2007, including testosterone, which is an anabolic steroid. Kennedy sternly claimed in a recent interview entitled 'WWE Stopped My Steroid Use' that he completely stopped doing steroids as soon as the WWE Wellness Policy was implemented. You can read the interview at this link.

Randy Orton - Purchased drugs as late as February 2007.

Umaga - Purchased Somatropin as late as December 2006.

William Regal - Purchased drugs as late as November 2006.

Of the ten listed, two currently hold WWE Championship belts, two more are involved in a major storyline, four more are active performers, and two are out indefinitely due to injury.

The following five WWE wrestlers were listed as being clients of the Signature Pharmacy as well, but their names didn't turn up on Sports Illustrated's list. It should be noted that Anthony Carelli aka Santino Marella didn't sign a contract with WWE until 2006, and the WWE Wellness Policy was implemented early that year, so it would be wise to assume that the following wrestlers haven't been totally cleared yet in regards to a possible suspension just because their names weren't listed in the Sports Illustrated article:

Batista
Chris Masters
King Booker
Santino Marella
Simon Dean

The following five wrestlers are no longer contracted to WWE. Three are deceased, one was recently released, and Stamboli's WWE status is unclear at the moment.

Brian Adams
Chris Benoit
Eddie Guerrero
Johnny Stamboli
Sylvain Grenier

Thats exactly what I thought.

Almost the whole middle part of the book, he rabbles on about steroids, how bad they are, his bad experiences with them, and how he almost lost his wife, and then he says let my past drug use be a lesson to others, then after years of being clean and sober, he's apparently accused for taking more just last year, a year after his book comes out?

This isn't right at all.  no

Dave@wrestlingobserver.com

Sports Illustrated has received information on the drugs and dates received by various WWE wrestlers, all of whom fall after the institution of the Wellness policy.

Based on these dates, the entire policy's credibility is shot in the sense there were detectable drugs purchased by talent through Internet doctors, a practice banned by the company's Wellness policy.

In addition, Ken Anderson (Mr. Kennedy) comes across like a complete fool because his last package was sent in February, one full year after he claimed to have gotten clean due to the Policy. Between October 2006 and February 2007, Anderson received Anastrozole (which is not a steroid, but used to counter affects of steroids such as development of female breast tissue), Somatropin (a Growth Hormone) and testosterone (an anabolic steroid).

Others listed in the article were:

Chris Benoit receiving Nandrolone and Anastrozole in February 2006.

Eddy Guerrero receiving Nandrolone, Testosterone and Anastrozole two weeks before his death.

Chavo Guerrero receiving many drugs, including Somatropin, Nandrolone and Anastrozole as late as May 2006.

Shane Helms receiveing testosterone, Genotropin (Growth Hormone) and Nandralone as late as February 2007.

Randy Orton receiving Somatropin, Nandrolone and Stanazolol as late as February 2007.

John Hennigan aka John Morrison getting Somatropin, Anastrozole, Testosterone, Stanazolol and HCG as late as February 2007.

Shoichi Funaki receiving Somatropin in March 2006.

Brian Adams received Nandrolone, Testosterone and Somatropin in December.

Charlie Haas received Anstrozole, Somatropin, Stanazolol, Nandrolone and HCG as late as January

Edward Fatu (Umaga) received Somatropin as late as December.

Darren Matthews (William Regal) recieved Stanozolol, Somatropin, Genotropin and Anastrozole as late as November.

Adam Copeland received Somatropin, Genotropin and Stanazolol as late as February. This must have included new evidence because government evidence on Copeland received by the Observer in May listed Copeland as not having received anything doctors were under investigation for in several years.

Sylvan Grenier received Somatropin, Nandrolone, Genotropin and Stanazolol as late as July 2006. Grenier has was fired by the company two weeks ago for unrelated reasons.

The company by the wording of its policy would be forced to suspend these wrestlers, aside from Benoit and Guerrero, because this would indicate flagrant violations of the policy after implementation.

The company suspended ten wrestlers, the same number as this list, two of whom, Helms and Copeland, are out indefinitely due to injuries.

Orton, Morrison, Matthews and Fatu were all key characters on television. Given the nature of the television as late as Tuesday, WWE could not have made the decision to suspend until Wednesday at the earliest, and most likely the decision was made this morning.

Some wikipedia information...

Stanozolol, commonly sold under the name Winstrol (oral) and Winstrol Depot (intra-muscular), was developed by Winthrop Laboratories in 1962. It is a synthetic anabolic steroid derived from testosterone, and has been approved by the FDA for human use.

Some athletes and body builders will also use Anastrozole as a part of their steroid cycle to reduce and prevent symptoms of excess estrogen; in particular, gynecomastia and water retention.

Growth hormone (GH) or somatotropin (STH) is a protein hormone which stimulates growth and cell reproduction in humans and other animals. It is a 191-amino acid, single chain polypeptide hormone which is synthesized, stored, and secreted by the somatotroph cells within the lateral wings of the anterior pituitary gland.

Nandrolone is an anabolic steroid occurring naturally in the human body, albeit in small quantities. Nandrolone is most commonly sold commercially as its decanoate ester (Deca-Durabolin) and less commonly as a phenylpropionate ester (Durabolin).

Testosterone is a steroid hormone from the androgen group. In general, androgens promote protein synthesis and growth of those tissues with androgen receptors. Testosterone effects can be classified as virilizing and anabolic effects, although the distinction is somewhat artificial, as many of the effects can be considered both.? Anabolic effects include growth of muscle mass and strength, increased bone density and strength, and stimulation of linear growth and bone maturation.  Virilizing effects include maturation of the sex organs, particularly the penis and the formation of the scrotum in unborn children, and after birth (usually at puberty) a deepening of the voice, growth of the beard and axillary hair. Many of these fall into the category of male secondary sex characteristics

As of now the suspensions of the 10 wrestlers will be treated carefully. Stars that are involved in major angles will be given a few weeks to be written out of the storylines, drop their belts and so on. Wrestlers who aren't currently doing much will probably just be taken off with no warning similar to Jeff Hardy a few weeks ago.

There is the possibility that top talent like John Morrison may continue as normal but will not be paid. This has happened in the past.

We'll keep you posted

WWE talent executive Mike "Simon Dean" Bucci was released today by WWE

Bucci worked as a high-up in all the developmental territories. Dave Scherer is reporting that the word among the wrestlers is that Bucci was called in for a meeting today by WWE in the wake of his name being mentioned by the The New York Daily News yesterday as being someone on the list of workers named in the Signature Pharmacy growth enhancing drug scandal.

Bucci's dealings with Signature took place when he was still an active wrestler, not a manager.

Alas, a great talent wasted. Sad
