You may want to rephrase that and remove the word 'dignity' from whatever you are trying to say.

This is all so wierd, I still dont know what to say or how to handle this. I just seen Raw from this week and I think they handled it properly, Either way you look at it, it was a lose of a superstar from there business, I think HHH has the best stuff to say, maybe JBL to...It was very good though

I kinda agree with you...  It was a good last tribute for Benoit the wrestler and the person before the murders... Now i'm not defending him in any way, because the story has changed now... But I dont think they should get heat nor regret airing it...

Bruce Hart Calls Benoit A "Delusional Juice Freak"
Date Added: June 29, 2007
Story By: Tim Brown
The following is from The Toronto Sun

Chris Benoit was a "delusional juice freak" who chased the dark side and had trouble distinguishing between his fictional character and reality, says the man who started him out in professional wrestling.

"The last time I saw him he was in pretty rough shape mentally," said Bruce Hart, son of the legendary Stu Hart. "I didn't know all the details but I knew it wasn't good. I was not at all shocked (by what happened).

"If I could see and determine that in a few visits, how the hell could they (World Wrestling Entertainment) not have known something was wrong? (In my opinion) I think the WWE needs to re-evaluate what it is doing here."

Hart will not simplify the shocking murder of Benoit's wife and 7-year-old son or the eventual suicide of the wrestler by attributing it only to steroid usage. But he truly believes that steroid abuse, in combination with delusional behaviour, painkillers and failing health -- "almost all the people we started out with (who did steroids) began breaking down around 40," Hart said -- is a deadly cocktail that needs to be further examined.

"I've known too many wrestlers who couldn't separate the character they play on television from their real life," said Hart, who has wrestled professionally, promoted wrestling and trained wrestlers all his life.

"Wrestlers start believing their press clippings and what is said on television. It's like an actor leaving the set but still playing the part. There's a delusional element to this. I've seen it over and over again. Some people can't separate the character from real life, and Chris was one of those people.

"From my experience, that has been quite prevalent with wrestlers and that becomes exacerbated by steroids, drugs, painkillers and failing health."

They hadn't seen each other much over the past few years, with Hart still in Calgary and Benoit working the circuit. "We saw each other mostly at funerals," Hart said. "At my brother's (Owen), my dad's, my brother-in-law's (Davey Boy Smith). Not that long ago I was talking to Hillbilly Jim and we were reminiscing a little. I told him I was worried about Chris."

While the WWE has a drug-testing policy, Hart believes they should bring in psychologists and physicians to evaluate not only their drug-testing procedures but how they treat their athletes, deal with them, and the toll their gimmicks take on the lives of their performers.

"Imagine if Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Mark Messier were all dead in their 40s. Imagine what the reaction would be?" Hart asked. "There would be investigations and more investigations. Wouldn't people want to know what happened and why?"

Hart was also deeply angered that the WWE aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit on Monday night.

"I kept hearing 'He was a nice guy, a great guy' and I knew him when he was a kid. But all I know now is he's a murderer," Hart said. In my opinion, "for them to do a tribute show was disgraceful."

Officials at WWE Canada refused to comment yesterday.

WWE owner Vince McMahon told NBC Today Show viewers yesterday that "steroids may or may not have had anything to do with this. It's all speculation until the toxicology reports come back."

Hart did wonder if Benoit had been given an unfavourable medical report, which may been another factor in his violent behaviour. "A lot of the steroid users start getting liver and kidney problems around the age of 40," Hart said. "There are a lot of wrestlers out there who are dead that you never heard about whose bodies broke down. I've known others who had looming health issues and went a little crazy. Maybe this caused him to go off."

all these former wrestlers looking for the spotlight to shed some light on an open investigation. this case is still open and police are investigating. the police should not leak or say anything to the media because the media grasps on little things like a rabid dog (no pun intended) .... for example when asked about drugs ... you can hear the next reported chime in um were they steroids... and repeatedly the police detective said wouldnt discuss that ..yet he continues. the wwe on their site was told not to continue with giving info, yet they did.. until they did a total shutdown. which might be too little too late. their stock price dropped and some news pieces on the web are saying mcmahon lost millions so far in this tragedy. these f'n news reporters put a kid, mom, and father's life after the money. how sick is that? now folks looking to blame anything to anyone - (anyone is still open cause the case is still ongoing)... the blame so far: wrestling, steroids, alcohol, unknown drugs given by the doctor, that doctor, moving to ecw, mcmahon, religion.

still havent heard though if some crack reporter will be investigating B's enemies in the ring - hmmm doesnt MVP have a criminal background? or how about Cryme Tyme - let the media grasp onto the race card bone.

with all of the problems in the home that have recently surfaced - what about the school? what did teachers notice? let's blame them too for not reporting needle tracks on a kid. that is sick.

at any time was the child taken to a hospital and again no one reporting needle track or any bruises? hold these doctors accountable.

before anyone blames mcmahon who is just B's boss and claims that mcmahon should have see it coming or some other nonsense - does your boss KNOW you? are football coaches responsible for the wave of crime in the news from high paid footballers? were nba coaches or owners guilty for players jumping into stands and fighting with fans? -- the answer - NO.... so dont blame mcmahon for this. but watch as mcmahon learns and adapts to this too. soon enough he will have a psychology checkup program in place - better than MLB, NBA etc... but still if something goes bad in the life of a former wrestler it will come back to him.

And remember WWE and mcmahon are one of the few who still give a damn about our troops dying every f'n day as we are soon to celebrate independence day.

it is a tragic event and hopefully it isnt forgotten. when the truth comes out and the investigation is done then vengeance should be served to that which caused this so it never happens again. be that prison sentences to those linked to this tragedy or banning certain drugs or firing certain individuals or more.

the positives of that B monday night tribute show was that wrestlers reminded folks to be good to those they loved and to tell them so. yeah timing a bit hasty - but given the circumstances no one saw the alleged criminal action that is being reported currently as truth monday night.

oh and tna let konnan go! come on major immigration angle being lost here. LAX beats dudleys, but new tag team come in as heels: the border patrol! and LAX turn face....how current event is that?

Seriously and I have watched for over 25 years but I think I am done.

because of this benoit thing?

i can understand not wanting to watch a benoit match or something but to not watch wrestling at all because of this incident?

personally, i don't understand how so many people here are infatuated with wwe. the wrestling is shit, the storylines are shit and all the wrestlers look like roided up freaks. benoit was one of the few that was watchable. but even then hes not gonna be remembered for wrestling now.

 Huh

i know i sound like a broken record.......but japanese wrestling is the greatest product ever.

where its highly respected, most of the wrestlers aren't on roids (i say most because usually the american guys working over there are on the roids) and it isn't the joke of every sports channel.

NOAH, Dragons Gate and All Japan are only a youtube click away!

 ok

It is a great promo. I remember it the 1st time around thinking the crowd were gonna riot. I also remember that Vince was angry with him coz it ran over 5 minutes coz there was so much chanting and he went on about Bret for too long. But it was good

Works the crowd really well and how mental did the crowd go when Bret's Music played. I hope one day we get to see him on TV for real in Canada.

I still think in his deluded mind he thinks he is in the right about the screwjob, when quite clearly hes not. And some of the things he says about morale fibre is a joke if he believes them. coz he has little to none.

Thats HBK at his best for me. That and the original DX promos. if only he'd talk more and wrestle less he'd be alright IMO (before i get the HBK bummers on my back again)

Yeah, it proves that even though he's a "born again christian" he is still has the ability to be the total heat magnet he was in the Original DX/Attitude era, and really can naturally draw heat without resulting to bad language. It goes to show him as a real pro.

I thought this was one of his best promos of all time, and I remember watching it for the first time, and being amazed at the heat he was getting. I really wish when Shawn Michaels returns he become a heel. I'd love to see one more HBK heel Champion run, as he proved here that he's still got it.

Oh, and Gnrfan, glad you liked it, although I wasn't specifically searching for a HBK promo, I just typed in "wrestling promos" and this was one of the great promos it found. hihi
