Just when you thought it would be safe to watch Smackdown again....

Mark Henry has had a change of heart and he would like to stay in WWE after his ten year contract expires later this year. Henry has been getting some big paydays as of late, particularly for the Royal Rumble, and he will likely get a big payday for his match at Wrestlemania. He will earn far more than his base pay this year. These big paydays have changed his tune and now he wants to stay, especially considering that they are pushing him as a top guy now because Smackdown has such little depth.

Before his recent return, he wasn't too interested in staying around after his contract expired. He figured he gave it ten years, not to mention that WWE had little interest in keeping him. Henry is well off financially because he's invested his money well since getting the big contract in 1996.

Also, the ten year contract he signed in 1996 was for $250,000 a year, not one million a year like many people have thought. So at the very least, Henry has made $2.5 million over the course of ten years.

The tag team of Jamie Noble and Kid Kash will be doing a Rick Steiner/Pitbulls "dogpound" style gimmick complete with matching collars, chains and tights. They also bark, crawl and bite during their matches. Noble and Kash debuted this new gimmick at last night's Velocity tapings prior to Smackdown.

I'm lookign forward to seeing this.? These 2 are great wrestlers and the company needs more tag teams, they definately need a team name though, i hate it when tag teams don't have team names, speaking of tag teams....

After having a great match on HEAT with Charlie Haas on May 1st, Akio Yang was signed to a contract. He will more than likely be a part of Smackdown, although, it hasn't been confirmed. He will not be a part of the new ECW.

A few months ago, an idea was pitched to remake The Orient Express. Akio Yang would have been paired up with a masked Kato character, the leading candidate being Ray Gordy - the son of the late Terry Gordy.

The Orient Express was a WWF tag team from the late 80's, early 90's that was managed by Mr. Fuji. The team was originally composed of Pat Tanaka and Akio Sato. A few years later, Akio Sato left, and Kato was brought in. Kato was Paul Diamond underneath a mask. Paul Diamond also portrayed Max Moon.

Well the original team were, most of the time, a jobber team.? They made it onto the big events but rarely won, the only time that comes to mind is when they got a countout Wrestlemania win over The Rockers.....

...but Jimmy Yang is a great wrestler and was severly misused during his first run, this idea could work.? The team were never big enough in the first place for people to be pissed off or see this as a cheap 'Not as good as' rip-off....

He's one of those no personality cruiserweights who is a damn good wrestler.? He was in TNA when it first started as part of the Flyin' Elvis' with Sonny Siaki & Jorge Estrada.? When he joined WWE he was in a stable with Tajiri & Sakoda, then went solo on Velocity, had a fantastic set of matches on that show with Paul London, then got released.? He had a try out match with Charlie Haas on Heat, 2 weeks since and it was one of the best matches on Heat i've seen in ages, and because he impressed he got a deal.

Akio nearly snapping London's neck (Not on purpose though.... Cheesy)

Angel sent word that the following sad news was posted on the MySpace account of former WCW star Maestro:

" Was just informed that Steve Doll (Steven Dunn)is on life support at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee and that his kidneys shut down this morning. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers."

Doll was a star in the late 1980s during the latter days of the Pacific Northwest territory. He later broke into Memphis and became one half of Well Dunn, a lower level WWF tag team in the early 1990s. On behalf of everyone associated with PWInsider.com, I'd like to wish Doll and his family a quick and painless recovery during this trying time.

From PWinsider.com

I wish the dude all the best...Well Dunn were the 'original' Hearthrobs/Dicks kind of tag team.

Sorry chief....

...Hey you could also flip off your exam, what's another year of A-Levels eh?

I remember mine being easy and a fun stoner doss. Cheesy

On topic....Repo Man....rules Grin

Edit.....actually on topic

Here is the final card for WWE Judgment Day (SmackDown) this Sunday night, May 21, live and only on pay per view from Phoenix, Arizona:

World Heavyweight Championship Match
- Rey Mysterio (c) vs. WWE United States Champion JBL.

King of the Ring Tournament Final
- Booker T vs. Bobby Lashley.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match
- MNM (c's) vs. Paul London & Brian Kendrick.

- The Undertaker vs. The Great Khali.

- Kurt Angle vs. Mark Henry.

- Chris Benoit vs. Finlay.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match
- Gregory Helms (c) vs. Super Crazy.

- Melina vs. Jillian Hall.

I like the look of that card it has that low expectation, possibility of being decent potential.

Fine Angle & 'Taker's matches will be stinkers, but....

Benoit's, The Tag Title, World Title, Cruiserweight Title Match, KOTR Final and even the Women's bout should all be decent.

I guess, they'll be plenty more chances for the wrestling crew to meet as long as this line-up doesn't vanish again...

Really?  I thought you be avidly watching waiting to rejoice when London wins Tag Gold.....

....then you surge up the WWE Game III table even more.... Shocked

You could win then have WWE Game IV: King of Jim's Tongue

Haha, that's a pretty valid point. I guess I'll have to order it now.

I just wish WWE Fantasy started in time for Judgement Day; you get so involved when you actually care who wins pretty much every single match. It also means you start second guessing your certainties.... Even people like Mark Henry start having decent matches!  Grin

Everything is Eventual.

If only we had a Wrestlemania in the UK....

...ok, no chance, but a Summerslam, maybe that's happened before and it would be the perfect meet up place.
