Dude, considering the Raw GM is a freaking talking computer and Wade Barrett vs. Undertaker was the other option being discussed, I'm personally over the moon at this juncture.

"Better than the alternative" doesn't mean "good".

I'd rather have my teeth drilled than chew on razor blades.  Doesn't mean I'm looking forward to my next dentist visit....

The whole Raw GM thing has played out WAY too long.

Actually, I would've rather seen Undertaker vs. Wade Barrett, or any other rising superstar, than Undertaker vs. HHH.

Taker's probably only got one or two more years left in him. Personally, I think the WM undefeated streak should end, and I think it should be used to propel one of the younger guys into superstardom. We already know Taker is going to beat HHH, so there's no real drama. If it had been Sting vs. Taker, we know Taker would've won, but it would've been cool just to see two legends wrestle for the first (and probably only) time.

Supposedly, HHH vs. Taker is going to be a career vs. streak match, AGAIN. If it really is HHH's last match, then I guess it's worth checking out. That surprises me, however, since he's already been gone for so long. It would've been nice to see him have one more run. I wonder if they're going to have him get his revenge on Sheamus before the PPV, or if we're just supposed to totally forget about that storyline.

For me, the state of wrestling has been so dire lately that better than the alternative certainly means "good."

so the Undertaker is gonna retire DX essentially? I don't buy that happening.

if a guy like Wade Barrett( who had absolutely nothing to offer, no mic skills, no wrestling ability, no charisma) EVER ended the Undertaker streak i would never watch wrestling again.

Triple H and The Undertaker are the ones putting together their current program for WrestleMania 27, with minimal input from WWE creative.

Taker was originally scheduled to face Wade Barrett and Triple H was set to face Sheamus at WrestleMania but the two got together and realized that WrestleMania 27 had no special match. As WWE's two most power political forces, they felt they could take control of their own angle without much in the way of outside influence.

Shawn Michaels is still expected to be introduced into the storyline and have a role at WrestleMania, possibly as a referee or an enforcer. The idea behind the storyline is that Triple H is going at Taker for revenge after Taker ended his best friend's career.

http://twnpnews.com/messages/32978.php

For televised WWE events, Cena travels with Michael Cole as the two are best friends.

There is some concern on The Undertaker as his recuperation from the recent surgery is going slower than they had hoped for, even though he's worked hard with physical therapy. Taker's match with Triple H at WrestleMania 27 is expected to be the main event.

http://twnpnews.com/messages/32975.php

It's said that Vince McMahon is loving the current Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler storyline as he gets to live vicariously through Cole. Most of Cole's key lines on TV are fed to him by Vince. The current angle with Cole and Lawler is being patterned after Lawler's most famous angle ever, the one in the early 80's with comedian Andy Kaufman.

There is some speculation as to who will be announcing WrestleMania 27 as the feeling is it doesn't make much sense to have Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole call most of it and then work a match against each other. Jim Ross is always being speculated on for a return but at last year's WrestleMania, early plans were for him to announce but he didn't. Shawn Michaels and Undertaker even requested that Ross work the pay-per-view but it wasn't the direction that Vince McMahon wanted.

I love jericho but he has no shot. Did u see his terrible footwork when he was trying to box Mickey Rourke? Two left feet for sure.

Rock is straight Owning John Cena's ass. Damn i hate Cena. Who cares if Rock left? Dude was making movies. I tip my hat to him for getting out in tact and healthy.

Cena would be working for WCW if it wasn't for The Rock.

Monday's RAW had 22 minutes and 41 seconds of in-ring wrestling, down from the previous week's 23 minutes and 29 seconds. This is the lowest amount of in-ring time for 2011.

And thus the rumors of Sting's defection to WWE go "poof".

TNA's been pretty entertaining the past 2 weeks.  Hope they can keep it up.

Wicked, so you saw The Rock winning Hollywood Hogan.  Grin

That is only 2nd to Rock vs Austin at WM17, with matches that I'd love to have seen live.  Grin

Rock vs Austin at Wrestlemania 17 was total carnage, really impressive hour of wrestling right there.  yes

I haven't watched wrestling in like 8 years, but today as I was flicking through the channels I caught Smackdown in HD. I gave it a little watch, and was taken a back, by how much it has changed.  Shocked

The first thing I noticed was, how uninterested the crowd seemed. They all were talking amongst themselves, and acting as if the wrestling was just a bonus while they was chatting. Back in the day, people used to hold up banners, and everyone seemed so involved in the event.

Also, WTF has happened to Michael Cole, the guy has a match at Wrestlemania.  hihi

And on top of that he has gained alot of weight and seems to be on some sort of drug, just my view.

And lastly, someone please enlighten me, why are the commentators like Cole in a plastic shelter. Did the WWE have trouble with people throwing objects at them, or is it there for another reason.  Roll Eyes

(Also Takers entrance music is so naff, I prefered his theme when he just turned back to the "dark side" at wrestlemania 20, and he wrestled Kane.)

When there's 15 minutes of actual wrestling in a 2.5 hour show and the rest is talking, can you blame the crowd for frequently growing disinterested?  hihi

Michael Cole is in the "Cole Mine" so King can't touch him until 'Mania Wink

Agreed, the guy is great in is paranoid, bitter-at-Mysterio role. Cool

The first thing I noticed was, how uninterested the crowd seemed. They all were talking amongst themselves, and acting as if the wrestling was just a bonus while they was chatting. Back in the day, people used to hold up banners, and everyone seemed so involved in the event.

OK, this part I will agree with. A lot of crowds these days seem a bit dead when you think they really should be getting into something. Perhaps the large number of kids who don't 'get' the significance of something has a lot to do with it...

Also, WTF has happened to Michael Cole, the guy has a match at Wrestlemania.  hihi

And on top of that he has gained alot of weight and seems to be on some sort of drug, just my view.

What? Some kind of drug? I'm not sure how serious you're being there... 0_o

(Also Takers entrance music is so naff, I prefered his theme when he just turned back to the "dark side" at wrestlemania 20, and he wrestled Kane.)

That is Johnny Cash. Shocked  He'd had that previous theme ever since WM20, so it was kind of nice for him to have a change. Plus, it goes with this 'Last Outlaw' theme they're going for with him since he returned.

I simply love Johnny Cash, but I feel that song is too slow tempo, compared to the other theme.

The other theme was just a great build up, and it's kind of similar to GN'Rs recent intro in terms of using orchestral arrangments to create an epic build up. I also want to add that when Taker did his speach about versing HHH, the crowd was just diabolical. Talk about awkward moments, they just seemed bored as hell. Even back in 2003-04 when I finally decided to stop watching, it wasn't anywhere as bad as that.  Undecided

As for Cole, I only said about the drug thing because of how much he has changed in appearence to how I remembered him. His face has really filled out, and he seems to be pumping something with his body structure. I remember the geeky, skinny Michael Cole who used to get bullied by The Rock in interviews.  hihi
