I haven't seen wrestling in ages... It's been a long, long time. Still... Bring on the next WWE game! Ahem. Anyway. My reason for posting, I was watching some old WWF videos on YouTube, the Attitude glory days from when I never missed a show, and the thing that strikes me the most is how much bigger the pops are. Why is that? Was it really that much better back then, or are the crowd just less interested now? More mothers and young kids?

ThreeTheories:

1. Maybe the stars were just bigger and more awesome thus receiving louder applause

2. The arenas they were in back then were twice as large. Back then they sold out 18 to 20 thousand seaters, now its more like 9 to 10 thousand.

3. Maybe WWE were pulling a WCW and pumping in artificial crowd noise?? remember WCW did that for Goldberg.

You know what, I would honestly take that over some of the stale crowd reactions that I've seen when I have watched . I remember watching Goldberg vs. Lesnar at Wrestlemania (20, wasn't it?) and while the match itself was godawful, the fantastic atmosphere made it watchable.

'Tis weird, in 1999 D'Lo Brown got bigger pops than some Main Eventers do now.

The business was hot though and everyone on the roster had some kind of storyline and/or personality...

Next WWE Game eh, your brother making the picks?

Haha, he better do. Although, to be perfectly honest, I think that his interest has waned of late. But I'll find somebody...

On 1999 pay-per-views, everyone in the arena shouts "HEAD!" when Al Snow comes out. He got a great reaction. Al Snow!

I started watching mid-2001, so I guess I missed wrestling when it was at its peak (1999-early 2001 IMO).

Armageddon

WWE Championship
Randy Orton VS. Chris Jericho

World Heavyweight Championship
Batista VS. The Undertaker VS. Edge

Kane and CM Punk VS. Mark Henry and Big Daddy V

Mr. Kennedy VS. Shawn Michaels

United States Championship
MVP VS. Rey Mysterio

#1 Contender's Match
Jeff Hardy VS. Triple H

The Great Khali VS. Finlay

Women's Championship
Beth Phoenix VS. Mickie James

I'll take Batista, Punk and Kane, MVP, HHH, Michaels, Beth and Finlay to win. I see Orton getting DQed or something.

I honestly think a huge problem with the WWE these days is the storylines....There running out of ideas and they cant use alot of the crazy stuff they did before...And even like when Stone Cold brought that beer truck in a few eeks ago...There wasnt that big of a pop because it had already been done before....And they throw these storylines together within weeks...Where before they had the amazing storyline with HHH & Rikishi taking out the rock with the Sledgehammer and Austin doing the investigation, those feuds lasted forever...It was actually intense stuff

The WWE was still pretty enjoyable in 2003.

I think the downward spiral began in 2004.

It still has interesting periods

Right now I really enjoy watching Raw, ECW sucks and I can only watch parts of SD.

The brand split killed it.

Imagine all the wrestlers still on the same show. It would be awesome

Hoping for MVP need him in the GAME.
Kane and Punk
Triple H

Mickie James
Khali by DQ, or Finaly gets away with cheating for the win
Jericho by DQ, when #1 contender Triple H jacks Orton.

Greetings friends - after 6 years ''out'' of wrestling, i'm back watching it religiously (well not smackdown....)

Armaggeddon looks to be a truly lazy PPV - have they even bothered to set anything up?
