should this site have a CHAT ROOM?

well, i don't see the harm in another place to meet anyway, but that's up to the admin to decide i guess.

and thsu the best decision is not to have a chat room. its just gonna be too much to administate, adding it on to the boards

Can't just about anyone start a chat on yahoo or whatever?  If you really want one, why not do that?  Why should  Jarmo be bothered with it?

because it's his fucking forum and i can name you a few forums that have chat rooms, even gnr forums (they are mostly dead now), lostrose.com had one, 2TI had one, i could go on. who provided them? the administrators. not saying jarmo SHOULD though, that's up to him, but it's actually quite normal for admins to engage in creating chat rooms for their users.

i think it would filter allot of the arguments and shit out of the threads thats why i suggested a chat room...

threads go off topic to easily and if you have a chat room i think that the threads will be kept strait to the point withou the topic going elsewhere.
thats just my opinion

but really , would it be a problem technically to set up a chat room ? does it use a lot of bandwith ?
its kinda cool, so people online can talk while they're bored at work

Maybe this is just me making this way too simple but if there are all these other sites that have chat rooms; how about who ever wants to chat just go set up an account at one of them and than just chat away

I understand that, I've checked out some of the other boards and quickly bailed out because it was like a kindergarten class with no teacher. However since it seems like Jarmo has no intention of adding this feature, it might be more productive to have an account set up at one of those sites and just hop over there when you feel like chatting with someone or a group of people. Thats all.

I think a Chatroom would be a decent enough idea, though I cant really see it minimalising any of the chat on the actual boards themselves, but it would be a great hang out.

There are no plans to add a chat room to this site at the moment.
