Question about uploading!!!

Ok so you know how you can go to a website like, www.tinypic.com, and upload pictures from your computer into a link on the internet?  Well is there website where you can upload a sound clip from your computer into a link you can send to somebody?  That is free?  I really wanna do that but I dont know how!!! Please Help!  thanks

it's not very difficult to work out how to use this, even if you're not very confident with stuff like this. give it a bash and if you mess up just come back and tell us what went wrong.

It was easy to work, but the only problem I have now is that it is stuck on the page that says ' Sending your file. Please stand by....'  I've given it a lot of time, but it still hasnt gone through yet.  Im guessing it's a mixture between my computer is slow, and the sound clip is really long.  Im going to try it again later an see if there is better luck next time.

Depending on how large the file is and the speed of your pc it could take a while. get everything ready then nip off for something to eat.

How big is the file, out of interest? Length isn't really a good signifier, because you could just change the file type to make it smaller. What file type is it?

I've tried www.yousendit.com once or twice before, I was quite happy with it. There's also another website, serving the same purpose as that one, with a very similar address, but I can't remember it right now.

The length of the track is 29 minuets.  It was on a cd of mine, that I saved to my computer, under the program Real One Player.  I was able to pull the file up to upload it, but it hasnt gone through. It's already been an hour an a half an it still hasnt finished.  What does file type mean? How do I change that?

Don't know a great deal about this kind of thing, but I reckon you'd need some sort of editing programme. Cool Edit works, and you can download it with a crack from some sort of P2P software like Kazaa. Right click on the file for me, and go to properties, then tell me what it says the file size is? I'm guessing it'll be huge if it's 29 minutes, regardless of whether it's a .wma file or whatever. Maybe you'd be better off posting the CD to the recipient

Hmm, maybe this wont work then.  The thing is, it was a recording of a speach given, I guess they record it through the sound system or whatever, and I bought a copy of it on cd.  I know it can be done somehow, cause isnt it just like how when you go to a website, for example, Ive been to guns n roses websites and listened to clips from a concert.  But Im sure the people that do stuff like that are really intelligent with the computer, an I only know enough to get me around.

It says this.....

and after the title of the clip, it says .rmj

Hahaha, I know.  Well, the way I figured it was- I had no clue how to make it work, an that was my only option, as long as I got from point A to point B I didnt care how I did it or how long it took haha, I just left the thing running and online on my computer.  Haha after the first hour of waiting, I was like, shoot- it's been this long already?! I am totally determined to make this work.
