on the tokyo japan double talkin jive intro its like almost the same as the end of metallicas saniterium. Is it coicidence? or are there other reasons.

This is bullshit!! How dare you imply that GNR has to rip off some Metallica song!! I haven't heard that Metallica song in years, but there's no way its the intro to DTJ.

I think it's part of the instrumental jam they did during Double Talkin' Jive. Sometimes they played some Led Zeppelin etc.

Yes, it's the Sanitarium riff.  Maybe they played it since they'd previously toured with Metallica.

I'm gonna have to listen to that song again. Not only can i still not believe it metallica, I cant believe I didnt spot it myself. I used to listen to Master of Puppets all the time, never noticed the connection.

They always did, but for some reason Hetfield always had a bug up his ass about Axl. I can actually think of two reasons

1. The Toronto riot.

2. GnR accomplished more in 6 yrs than Metallica did in 20

 peace

Yeah, Metallica always had some strange fascination with GNR. I never understood it. The fascination goes way back, even before 1992. Metallica practically begged them to open for them back on the 1988 'Justice' tour. Why would they want an opening band who would blow them off the stage? For some reason, the GNR-Metallica 88 Tour never happened. I dont remember why. Maybe someone here can dig up an article where the bandmembers discuss it.
