Whatever, I really love his floppy effect in combination with BH's solidness on GN'R.

I'm pretty sure I know something about guitar AND I think Finck rocks. I've recorded
The Blues
and I was even more excited about Finck's work. You know, he's not a cliche factory...
I think you don't like the guy because his style is too far from Slash. But I think that's why Axl wanted Robin... And you guys underestimate Axl's point here. He wouldn't call Robin to join GNR TWO times if he just sucks, as you (and the ones who thinks that you need to understand something about guitar to like/dislike some player) like to claim.
a cliche factory..
You tell'em. Voodoochild. A talented one can tell about the talent.
Trent would difinitely nod yes to you too.
Thanks ppbebe.. I'm not that good, but I do like what you said.
Oh, BTW: listen to some of Robin's work in the Ghost Of Mars soundtrack. Buckethead worked with him int the track Love Siege along with the guys from Anthrax... Really great guitar sounds - and it's not annoying like some instrumental tracks out there!

I've just discovered something there: Brain drums playing is absolutely monstruous
There is some John Bonham in that guy...?

I told you so!
Nes, Try the RIR version of Oh My God. it may change your opinion on the song.
The rhythm section is helluva important!

the fact that Brain may be great on "oh my god" at RIR (and I'm sure he is) doesn't change the fact? that the song itself is bad (for me). This is not with songs in the style of? "oh my god" that Axl will be successfull again and will sell records. I prefer to be fair in my judgment. Hoppefully it seems the album will be more "conventional" thanks to Roy Thomas Backer production (epic/classic-rock producer- the guy works with Queen). It means "Chinese Democracy" could be a more Classic-Rock oriented record than we think (with some modern touch). But obviously, as soon as I haven't heard the record, I don't want to speak too much about it because...I just don't know anything. Like all of us.

Neemo, thats quite a list of guitar players you got there(only a couple sucked). But how could you forget Kim Thayil from Soundgarden? That guy is a fuckin genius!!
Actually I never really cared for Soundgarden, I don't like Corn-hole. but they do have some ok tunes.
I forgot a few guitarists, Eddie Van Halen for Instance. I can't believe he isn't on the list.

Let me get this straight, you like Cobain, Kid Rock, and Borland (just to name a few on that list) yet you dont like finck? Finck is MUCH MUCH better than all three of them especially that hack Kurt Cobain.
Also read the reviews, most said you could close your eyes and not tell the difference between the old and new band.? ?Slash played very sloppy a lot of the time on tour with gnr or did some of you forgot that?
The fallacy that a lot of you people that bash finck do its compare fincks live playing with the studio playing of slash or any other guitar player.?
As for what Finck wrote, we know he wrote the blues since his web master said that he did.
I didn't know that he wrote the blues since I don't EVER go to his website. cudos to him, he is partially forgiven
As far as I recall I said that Mr. Brownstone was magnificent and I could close my eyes and it was like listening to the record. I didn't ge back to check but I think that's what I said
. Besides the 2002 show I saw was the best show I've ever seen. More for the fact of Axl's brilliance than anything else.
Robin hasn't done much but live playing that's the problem. And how fucked up was slash when he screwed up? I've never heeard him mess up a song live, but I'm not saying it hasn't happened. And there is no way you can say Finck is in Slash's league. Slash is far superior.
again against kid rock, borland and cobain. those guy have wrote some pretty cool stuff, Cobain helped change the face of rock, he had a hand in dethroning GnR from the top of the rock'n'roll hill how can you say he sucked? Borland writes some pretty funky cool stuff and Kid Rock's guitar is a throwback to southern rock. What has Finck done? he was a live musician for NIN, Hurt is a pretty complicated song on guitar I guess
[read with way to much sarcasm btw] and he played some music written by Slash and Izzy in 2002, oh yeah he was in Cirque du Soleil. Not very Impressive record compared to the three guys I was just talkin' about. of course music is always subjective, I'm just giving my POV.

I'm pretty sure Robin wrote The Blues solo... At least that's what his webmaster told us once.
Finck is an awesome guitar player. I know what I'm talkin' about... Yeah, he fucked up this solo in Pittsburgh, so what? Slash fucked up some solos too. His work on the new songs are the best guitar work of them all, IMO. A lot better than anything current, including VR.
BTW, Wes Borland sucks big time.
He fucked up Patience at every 2001-2002 show I've heard. Vegas 2000, RIR3, Ohio, NY, London-canada (My buddy went to this one), Ont, Pittsburgh, Albany, and the one I went to Toronto.
I happen to think he is very talented, some of his stuff is very new and different, his style is his own though, that's for sure, you either like him or hate him I guess

why is robin fink not fitting the gnr style?? cause he can bend a string and hit the correct pitch?
I think you mean "can't" bend a string or hit the correct pitch.
improvise is one thing.... out of key is totally different.
If you CAN'T bend a string or hit the correct pitch you shouldn't try! Do you know what I mean? that is a sign that you aren't that good

Maybe Robin does just what Axl says and thats why Axl likes him
Just cause Axl likes him doesn't mean I have to.
You are right maybe he just isn't my type of guitar player.
I will check out the Ghost of Mars ST. any suggestions in particular?

IF you never heard slash fuck up playing live then you must not have heard a lot of bootlegs from gnr. Because slash fucked up a lot and he wrote the songs.
Robin plays fine live, but people like you are still pissed that slash is in the band and will never give robin credit.
Like I said robin is better than kid rock, cobain and borland just to name a few, yet you love those guys.
And cobain didnt dethrone gnr from the top of the rock world, that is just mtv rewriting history. Nirvana at no point was ever bigger than gnr. Just look at 1992 when people say nirvana was bigger. Who headlined the mtv music awards? It was gnr. Who sold more albums? Gnr did. Who played in front of more people? Gnr.
Also if Finck sucked do you really think that two genuis's like Axl and Trent would want and fight over Robin being in their band? Also what has slash done since leaving gnr? Nothing really. His solo stuff was poor and his guitar work with VR is not very good either, its rather boring. Id take robins blues solo over any solo slash did in VR.

Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.

Actually, I haven't heard much bootlegs from the "OLD" GnR you are right. I watched the Pais PPV live, I've seen Ritz, I've seen CBGB's, I have a 3CD bootleg from the UYI tour and the Unplugged bootleg, and miscellaneous stuff here and there and Award shows and special appearances on TV. And again I said I am not saying Slash never fucked up, I've just never heard him fuck up.? (besides as fucked up on drugs and booze as he was back then I'm surprised he could stand up let alone play guitar, ever try to play guitar when you are drunk? It's fucking hard man, I tried once and I couldn't do shit)
If you think that Robin is better than the guys I mentioned then good for you, music is subjective, but I never said I love those guys, I, myself, just think they are better than Robin. But you still haven't told me something fantastic and incredible Robin has done
And if Robin is sooooo awesome why all the rumors about a new guitarist? Why bring Bucket in in the first place if Robin kicks so much ass?
With the birth of grunge we saw the fall of the Hair bands. whether or not MTV brought it about it doesn't change the fact that after '93 you don't see that kind of band in the limelight anymore. hence Nirvana
HELPED
dethrone bands like GnR.
And don't presume to know too much about me, I am not pissed that Slash is gone, I remember the day when heard he left, it was a long fucking time ago, do you think that I would worry about something that happened a dozen years ago to people I don't know? I'm not that obsessed, I do however think the first Snakepit album is pretty good (Not the best album ever, but worthi listening to once in a while). I also enjoy VR, I used to like STP and think that Scott has stepped into a new band very well, as for Slash and Duff, it's good to see them in the spotlight again. And they are Awesome live dude (not as good as GnR when I saw them, but good)
Ya know it's really hard to get my point across I guess.? GnR was incredible in 2002, OK, but, to me Robin seemed kinda lost up there, the old tunes just aren't for him maybe I don't know but I didn't think he was that good when he played solos (his rhythm was alright but he just seemed...sloppy, i guess, like he was fighting his guitar to play solos, ya know, did you see them in 2002? Where and what did you think of his playing? was it spotless?
And as far as taking his ONE solo over anything VR, whatever turns your crank man, I like listen to more than one song (and I stopped listening to the new songs with any regularity like 3 years ago). If and when GnR decide to release anything then I'll listen to it for a while. or maybe I'll get in the mood to listen to GnR for a week or two, but, for me the same songs over and over and over and over again is fucking boring.
Now I have a question for you:
Are
you
just pissed that Slash doesn't play with Axl anymore and that's why you don't like anything new that he does?
