Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

« on: June 09, 2005, 03:41:33 PM »

Do you think we are all too exigent with Axl and the new line-up? are we (the fans) blind or ask them for the impossible?
It is time to make our auto-criticism. Discuss.

One of two things needs to happen, and it needs to happen 'soon'. Axl needs to announce a CD release date, or he needs to announce that the album is NOT coming out. This wait is getting ridiculous. I think the only reason that a 'no album announcement' hasn't happened is because it will cause a flurry of lawsuits. I would not be surprised if the album has been shelved. If there's no announcement by the end of summer, we should just stop dreaming of CD.

Oh my god. Has it come so full circle that we are asking the same freaking questions but just using different words to use them?!  Roll Eyes Yes , after waiting so long for the album all of a sudden we are so urgent to get the album we require immediate action from the gnr camp!  rofl

hey , another question ,  I'm compelled to paunder the notion if Mr.Roses , forth coming opus of thoughts and ideas and musings will bear it's seed sometime before years end?

It is time to set us up the rock. All your blues are belong to us! Discuss.

We are expecting far to little, all he has to do is get with his band and give them their day in the sun and get the ball rolling already.. They have been ready for a long time, then you have his band who say they barely se him they have no knowledge of anything..  He proabably had crappers like rhiad silkwroms and oh my god in an industrial maner and knew he had to junk them

Exigent. ?Good word,
Though "demanding" would suffice
For those in Cali. Tongue

We ask a great deal
Since none here have paid money
For CD as yet...

(Unless you prepaid,
In which case you have a gripe,
With the music store.)

That said, Mr. Rose
Said CD would be released
When it was complete.

Negotiations
Continue with the label
And Sanctuary.

So let's all relax
And listen to some Enya.
Be less exigent. Grin

Ummm, yeah it is.
If Axl spent a consistent amount of time in the studio rehearsing, tweaking and working towards a goal of releasing a record the past several years, then I would applaud him and continue to support him no matter how long it takes.
But there have been too many reports that he ignored the project for several months at a time on more than one occasion, and there is a good reason to believe the new band hasn't even rehearsed together since the end of the 2002 tour.
Call him lazy. call him distracted. Call him troubled. Regardless, he's not delivered.
I love Axl and am not pissed about it, but if I was responsible for paying him, I sure as hell would be.

if he is a so called perfectionist then he will never be happy, he needs band members that only care about getting this project out and that cheer him on and re assure him.. Look at the illusions, imagine if that didn't come out sooner like it did, we might have gotten 1 & 2 in 1993 and the whole think would have tanked because of the change in musical direction with grunge.. Fuck we could have had gnr with just afd n lies..

The band needs unity, kind of like a team.. They don't have to be tight like the afd gnr but they need to have just cd as their only project taking up their time.. There's no worries when brain is doing a drum clinic, or tommyis working on vgh 2 or dizzy is playing some college dive bar, or richard is fucking around with nena.. Who has their eyes on the prize with new gnr?? You leave axl to stear the ship and you might hit an iceberg.

You can always find faults with music if you sit around going over every note and chord.. Just be a rock n roll band? and have some spontaneous ways and go with it while everyone is young..

Loretian, he definitely owes us. Axl comes out of his cave every few years and hypes CD. He has his hired goons tell the world that CD is 'mindblowing', 'insane', and 'earth shattering'. If he doesn't owe us anything, he should have kept his mouth shut.

Yeah, okay, you can talk about that all you want, it's totally irrelevant.  Even if he claimed in 1993 that CD would be out in 1995, and include a personal stripper with each copy, he still wouldn't owe us shit.  Think about it.

and the new guys arent doing that at all, most are just studio/session musicians that wont really be effected by the release date  financially b/c their still getting paid for doing basically nothing. My question is why arent they more eager to get their names out in the current music scene? I mean im sure nobody outside of these (and other) GnR boards know who Richard Fortus or Tommy Stinson are. CD in stores would prolly make them all well known
