I used to train Submission Wrestling(a big part of Shootfighting), does that count?
My favourite submissions must be armbars and chokes.
But I'm not that good at taking down my opponents.
So I let them take me down instead.
But it's been a while since I did any submissions, I train karate now.

Did you train free-style or greek-roman?

hi everyone! my first post here Grin I said I'd start with this topic as it takes up most of my time...apart from being on the net! I practice Tae Kwon Do, and have done for 6 years. I did Karate beforehand and am looking to go into boxing, although there aren't a lot of females fighting over here (Ireland). Any other girl Martial Artists on here? Smiley

I'm new here and am happy to see a martial Arts thread, but was bummed out that it was all the way down on page 2 of Fun N' Games.

So, I'm bumping it up.

I've been studying Kenpo Karate for 10 years and am a black belt. Smiley

Aikido is a japonese martial art ...

http://www.aikidofaq.com/introduction.html

Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba  (often referred to by his title 'O Sensei' or 'Great Teacher'). On a purely physical level it is an art involving some throws and joint locks that are derived from Jujitsu and some throws and other techniques derived from Kenjutsu. Aikido focuses not on punching or kicking opponents, but rather on using their own energy to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. It is not a static art, but places great emphasis on motion and the dynamics of movement.

Hope tha helps !!  Wink Smiley

I'm reaaallllly addicted to it right now ...  yes

While at an aikido training  weekend, we had the opportunity to practice Karat? ... I don't have a clue which one but we learnt a kata - Pinan Shodan- I kinda like that even if it's rather different than aikido.
