I thought that the British just thought of themselves as British and not European. Similar to Bavarians not being Germans. Even if you do count in the UK it is still a weak scene. One country, the UK, is carrying the load for an entire continent.
Oasis? Legendary? Only in their own minds!

[On topic, the guys was 40 years old then. His voice sure can't recover as fast as it did 15 years ago. In europe he played a few festivals and London, that's three gigs, in America how many are we talking about? 10-15?

I saw Vr the other night and Scott's not so young and he sounded amazing, plus he's on a full fledged every night kind of tour and he's been on tour for over a year now. Axl doesn't have a strong voice anymore I guess. His voice sounds great I really like it on IRS i think that's a good tune.
By the way MSG he sounded great maybe just a one day break between each big travel day is what he needs. Oh and America is awesome

Rammstein are a pretty awesome German band and there's a kick ass metal scene in Scandanavia.

What outstanding bands from Europe are you talking of?? The Hives are about it, the rest of Europe's music is pretty weak, to say the least. Canada is putting out better tunes that the Euros.? There are just some things that Americans are better at and entertaining oneself is one of them.? Look at us, we are fat, un-informed about world events, and ego driven, tell me we are not being entertained by great music, movies, etc.?
If we are so bad then explain to me why when I was in Spain vityually every song I heard was an American artist or a remake of an American artist's song?? Sounds like a thriving music scene to me!
Thin Lizzy, The Beatles, U2, Jethro Tull, The Who, The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Sex Pistols, are all European; and I could definitely name more if I put my mind to it.
And in my opinion Axl sounded better in Europe basically because of fatigue he was experiencing after the amount of shows in the States. I'm not gonna say it's because Europeans are brilliant or anythin!

Oasis? Legendary? Only in their own minds!
In their minds they always were, but when you put out an album like Definitely Maybe and follow up with (What's the Story?) Morning Glory you become legendary. They have the second best selling album in the UK, only losing to guess who (Sgt Peppers). You may not like Oasis (that's your own fucking problem), but they are legendary.
About the thread, I think the best from Axl since Rock in Rio were some of the gigs in the USA, but he was less consistent in the American tour.

We can claim Slash as British too don't forget lol.
As for Axl i definatly think the Japan/Euro shows were set out a bit better, where it wasn't too much too soon. Because we all aware that Axl is not one for rehearsals as such. You can imagine that he probably hadn't sung 2 hours or whatever straight - night after night for some time.
Maybe there's less pressure here too? There's perhaps a more accepting audience for new material here? It would be interesting to see which areas they put more original songs in the set. My theory could be totally off lol but hey. I hope they plan the "next" tour alot better so there's no chance of no shows - THEM GONE.
