When all I've got is precious time

He sounded much better on the euro leg of the tour than on the US leg. On the US league some shows he was amazing but pretty much every show on the euro leg he was pretty damn great. Is that because he was siging less shows a week in europe?

This is for BabyGorilla and the people like him.
Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.

maybe because he was outside on most of the european gigs if not all and vice versa, or whatever, in the us?

the japan gigs were also inside right and they sound also more like the us, or Huh

that was because in europe, the grass is green and the girls are pretty.

also, the food and the drinks are better in europe.

and the audience is better in europe.

put simple, in europe everything is better.

really so you think Axl is keen on warm beer and blood pudding and maybe a little haggis Roll Eyes  If anything had to do with his bad singing in the US, maybe he was more stressed about making a strong imprtession  with his "comeback" in his home country? Who knows, but I agree he sounded noticeably worse on some of those US arena shows, I was very disappointed and a little embarassed for him atr the show I attended, except for MSG, I was proud to be an Axl fan when I heard that one,

andf BTW Axl will always be a badass frontman. Even if he continues to lose some range and power on his singing voice(which happens to anyone, part of aging) I still think he can kick ass for many years, with all the energy and emotion he puts into his live show.  I just hope he never resorts to lip synching or using a bunch of backing tracks, I d rather see him running around stage belting 'em out with all the raw Axl emotion if if some of the notes are a little rough

Back to the point Dave presented, yes I agree perhaps he needs a few days in between shows. I don't want to get into another discussion about the VMA performance, but he had just come off peforming quite a few gigs in the week or so beforehand in Europe from memory, so it's a possibility.

Something about Anarchy's posts....

On topic, the guys was 40 years old then. His voice sure can't recover as fast as it did 15 years ago. In europe he played a few festivals and London, that's three gigs, in America how many are we talking about? 10-15?

Man, I went to a U2 gig in 2001, and bono sounded aweful. I don't know how he sounds these days, but I'm pretty sure he's got more aweful days than bad ones... hihi

I agree with you Dave. And along those lines his voice sounded excellent in Vegas and Rio. Something I was saying as the 2002 tour was unfolding, and we were getting mp3s from the shows, is that Axl was obviously playing safety with his voice. He was looking at a long tour and afraid to really let loose with it.

As for the topic,

Not only the vocal. In European footages the band itself sounds more energetic n tight.
And the audience too. The atmosphere is great.
It's the same with Vegas and Rio.

I think his voice sounds cleaner on many songs off Tokyo n Osaka boots. Maybe it's because of the recording quality.

What outstanding bands from Europe are you talking of?  The Hives are about it, the rest of Europe's music is pretty weak, to say the least. Canada is putting out better tunes that the Euros.  There are just some things that Americans are better at and entertaining oneself is one of them.  Look at us, we are fat, un-informed about world events, and ego driven, tell me we are not being entertained by great music, movies, etc.

If we are so bad then explain to me why when I was in Spain vityually every song I heard was an American artist or a remake of an American artist's song?  Sounds like a thriving music scene to me!
