VELVET REVOLVER To Appear On 'Fantastic Four' Soundtrack - May 12, 2005

According to Sp1at.com, a spokesperson for VELVET REVOLVER has confirmed that the band have recorded a new song for the "Fantastic Four" soundtrack. The film, which is about a group of astronauts who gain superpowers after exposure to cosmic radiation, is due for release in the U.S. on July 8. A trailer for the movie can be found at this location. The spokesperson also confirmed that VELVET REVOLVER will be releasing a live DVD this summer, although the release date is still to be confirmed.

VELVET REVOLVER recently officially announced their participation in Ozzfest 2005. The quintet will play the final seven dates of the 26-city tour beginning on August 23, taking over IRON MAIDEN's slot on the Ozzfest mainstage.

VELVET REVOLVER were originally planning to do 10 Ozzfest shows, but the number was subsequently reduced.

Besides BLACK SABBATH and VELVET REVOLVER, other mainstage acts include MUDVAYNE, SHADOWS FALL, and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. The second stage will be headlined by Ozzfest veteran ROB ZOMBIE.

VELVET REVOLVER are currently on their own Electric Wonderland Show headlining tour.

yeah that would be like getting spiderman.. For a new group though getting two comic book movies is good.. ANyways they wouldn't have gotten the big song like say Hero or vindicated... I hope the movies is done with quality, I hated the hulk..

I wouldn?t count on F4 being a quality movie .

They already had to do reshoots ,which is never a good sign for a movie.

So the movie will probably suck but the sound track should be really good.

Yeah, it sucks, they only get the big song on the bad comic book movies!

Well I shouldn't judge Fantastic Four yet, but I'd bet a testicle that Batman will be better.  At least it has a VR song and Jessica Alba.

Batman is just so popular, plus the quench for a good batman has been going on for a long time.. I hate computer based movies like the hulk.. Punisher wasn't really good, but seether and amy lee did quite well with Broken..

Next thing that should be big is a good Superman movie..

I personally am starting to think all the comic book movies are getting overdone and over exposed/..

starting to think that?  Its definetaly been that way since X-Men came out!

The Hulk, Punisher, Daredevil, Elektra.... all throwaways.  Daredevil was easily the worst movie I've ever seen, I hated it more than Batman & Robin.

The X-Men movies and the first Spiderman are the only things I've really been interested in since this whole comic book thing started up.  Batman and maybe Superman should also be worthwhile, but I don't really care about the rest.

I think the biggest problem with movies the THE HULK, PUNISHER< and DAREDEVIL is the comic charecter really doesn't have a good villian to fight.  Look at the Spidermen movies, or the first few Batman movies,  They had a good battle to deal with.  In the punisher they really didnt build up the charecter that much they just had him kill everyone in the end.  The hulk forcasted too much on nothing and then tried to splice in a fight scene with his fricken dad at the end. I was so pissed after seeing that movie sense I loved the hulk and hoped it would of been good, but I should of known better after seeing the computer animated face of the hulk, that was the gayest thing ever.

i like most comic book movies that i have seen, but The Hulk, now thats the cheapest, crappest comic book based (on one i enjoyed) i ever seen. Its really crap.

Fantastic four is set to contend with war of the worlds so VR picked a good movie since all the kiddies will go to see fantastic four also. War of the worlds is more a serious film with loads of scary and hopefully voilent action (watch the trailers) thats my type of film lol. I dont think a VR song would have fitted in that type of film though. Fantastic four is a good choice for a soundtrack. ok

Right. Although I don't know what these guys are thinking. Putting a song on the XXX:2 soundtrack and now this? They need to stay away from movies. They can release new music anytime they want.

I wonder if the new song is a cover, or a remake of something from "Contraband." I'm hoping it's an all new song.

triple x was a real hit or miss.. Why not put some song that is your current single on an album that is geared toward other types of music fans..? It doesn't hurt anyone.. I think the song set me free fit the Hulk perfectly.. Just the movie tanked with computer generated shit..

Its not just that they don't have good villains, I can't stand the heroes!  Ben Affleck made me want to shoot myself... the computer Hulk looked like shit... and Adam West was better than the last two Bruce Wayne's we've seen.  Then you look at X-Men, and they perfectly cast someone for Wolverine.  It just seems like some of these movies are trying to be good superhero flicks, while some are trying to cash in on the current superhero trend.

I was wondering what happened to that acoustic Fall To Pieces, but I don't think that's the song for F4.  It sounds like they were recently in the studio recording a new song.

According to some posts at www.velvetrevolverforum.com it was a new song they wrote and recorded and it was a rocker in simlar vein as Slither.

whatever happened to the Contraband with the b sides?

did it ever get released?Huh

Fantastic Four looks iffy to me, Ill check it out but Im not very optimistic about it, like Timothy said, anytime u have to do reshoots, that isnt good.

War of the Worlds will be THE movie to see, that and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! ok
