Just saw him play in Dayton.  He put on a very good show.  Talked to him after the show and he talked about how the GNR behind the music was really edited and didnt give all the dirty info like it should of.  He talked about other stuff not related to GNR.  Very nice guy.  He talked to his fans the most out of all the GNR members I have met which include Stinson and Dizzy.

I hope he puts out a new record soon. A rock n roll album like Hangover would be great!

"Wasn't Yesterday Great" is a very good song. I like the bridge/solo part.

I saw him on Thursday night and he was awesome.  I didn't know he had such a good voice, and he could play leads too.  He put on a great show, and even threw in a couple GN'R tunes (It's So Easy N' Knockin' On Heaven's Door).  There was an Axl reference before KOHD.  He said that the person who should be singing that song is a certain red head sitting in his mansion in California.  After the show he talked to me and my friends for a while.  He signed stuff and took pictures.  I was really blown away by his talent, and by what a great guy he was.  Gilby Rules!!

I also was at the Dayton show.  The set list read like this:

Wasn't Yesterday Great
Under The Gun
Motorcycle Cowboy
Black
Little Help From Friends (Muddy vocals)
Pump It Up
Knockin on Heavens Door
30 Days In the Hole
Cure Me or Kill Me
Tijuana Jail

I think they may have thrown Monkey Chow in there also.  Muddy Stardust (Col. Parker) plays bass and Chad Stewart (Faster Pussycat, MotoChrist) plays drums.  Gilby stated that a new album is in the works.  Chad Stewart is a very cool guy, hopefully if you go to a show you'll be able to meet them all.

I wouldn't mind checking out a Gilbyshow.. He has put together some good shit on his solo albums. Pawnshop Guitars was a classic.... Good setlist, Monkey Chow was a great song of the first Snakepit Album..

Is he playing any other East Coast dates?

Yeah, he's playing Dingbatz, a bar in North Jersey, pretty soon.  Not sure of the exact date though.

Gilby really gets into his shows-it's good old dirty rock n roll. When he first starting touring in 94', he used to tease the opening of WTTJ, but would go into It's so easy. You can see his musical tastes, style of playing at his concerts, and see why he and Axl disagreed on the musical style of GNR-Gilby is very classic rock.

Damnit!!!  A week after I see him Duff and Slash decide to jump on stage with him in Cleveland.  I guess the VR tour kinda intersected with Gilby's?

yes, he is great. It's really my kind of music and style. I LOVE Classic-rock music, that's what Rock n' Roll is about for me. It just comes from the blues, bluesy roots, it's a soulfull music.

yep. I've met all of them but Izzy. Him, Steven & Richard were the most fan friendly with Matt 4rd. Of course it's easier being  more accessible when you're not Axl, Slash, Izzy and Duff
