Me singing Don't cry, want some advice

Hello there, I want want to know what you think about my singing and I would love to have some advice.
When I posted my vocals on Nightrain at the ChineseDemocracy.com forum they thought I sucked hard. They gave me the advice to sing with my own voice and now I did that on Don't Cry I think it sound better than my Nightrain version. Please post some advice I want to be better.

You're singing's quiet. In terms that you seem to be scared of your own voice. You might've been after a more sensitive tone, but it just sounded really shaky... But it's not even colse to the worst ones I've heard.
