I know most likely no one heard it, and their small talk about whatever happened to such a great band but I thought I would say the song was played and some small gnr talk (not accurate) happened.. Not bad considering so many millions listen to the show.. Howard basically said while scom played that the band was amazing, what eevr happened to them, .. Then he said how does a band that wrote such a song just go away? I am being random I don't know the order.. Howard said slash is an amazing guitar player, he also spoke of how TSI wasn't so hot and that it tanked.. He mentioned grunge possibly killing the band (remember they don't know the facts).. Artie who is a mmeber of stern's group memntioned hot chikc sin videos then mentioned slash on the bed with his snake as women came over.. Robin howards' side kick said a negative remark but in a joking way.. One guy said gnr had hot woemn in some of their vids ans she said no that was axl.. Keep in mind axl has done at least one interview and has a page in howard stern's book..

They really had no clue what was going on now even though slash is a buddy of howard and that he interviewed them last year.. hihi One staple in the show is during their cokmmercials for a certain product they always play slither in a looping format..

Howard mentioned how he missed bands like gnr, he thought hey were great,...
Sorry so radnom but those were the things said.. peace

Giuliana,  Nice post.  You beat me to it!  I live in Delaware and listen to Howard during my commute on WYSP which is a Philadelphia rock station.  The reception is pretty shitty, so as it was fading in and out I heard them playing Sweet Child O' Mine...of course my first f'in thought was holy shit!  It's an announcement!  I considered pulling the car over onto the side of the road at a point there was no static...but before I could do that, I realized no news was coming.  Howard said, "Axl just freaked out and destroyed the band," (with no good reason, I believe he added.)
On a good note he was talking about another rock band...was it System of the Down?  Some group that the lead singer looks like he had a nosejob, and a freaky lookin' guy in the band.  Howard said he likes rock bands looking weird...I did think to myself, "Boy, he would have loved the look of the 2002 GNR complete with braided Axl, Goth Finck and goddamn Buckethead."  Smiley  Howard rocks...but sadly, he illustrated how difficult it will be for the general public to accept a new GNR.   Cry
Call me crazy...but I've said it once before here at the site...Howard has a contract with ABC television here in the United States that will allow him to do a prime-time interview.  Howard is a ratings machine.  If Axl could pull himself together for it, I can't think of a more interesting interview.  Anybody agree???

Don't be so sure about the kisses...Howard's interviews get pretty personal, and if someone tries dodging the tough questions, he is pretty relentless.  This wouldn't be some Barbara Walters/Diane Sawyer asskiss-festival.

I guarantee you Howie would ask every question we'd ask...and then some.  A cool intro. would be Howie walking into Axl's mansion and seeing the giant crucifix...priceless. Smiley

I don't think axl would ever be interviewed by stern again... He has hard hitting questions and would really push axl's buttons. He'd definetly be asking about who he's banging and if stephanie was any good in bed.. All depends on how the people prepare the info in front of him being howard's gnr/axl knowledge is limited/. He definetly knew nothing about new gnr.. Kurt loder is like barbra walters so that's the way to go, dictate your own interview..
Stern and robin had some negative things to say when they played Oh My God on the air in 1999.. Some guy called up saying it's not gnr only axl is in the band.. Gave me a good laugh back then..

But if axl and company performed a song live on his show he would love it... Stern is really tough on his interviews, but he really loves rock music

Howard Stern? Is he still alive? I thought that he was declared extinct around the same time as the mullet hairstyle and spandex stage-wear.

he has the number one radio show in nyc... He only signed a 500 million dollar deal for satallite radio last year fior sirius radio..

Isaw the front page of the board and he talked about more then just rap becoming big and gnr just faded away, he spoke of the SI (not in detail) how it tanked, he said slash was an amazing guitar player.. He also spoke of how the way gnr was things like leather pants that style was no longer accepted and grunge bands took over, he said it was one reason gnr had a downfall, he gave hugh props to the song scom..

They also spoke of them having hot girls in the video, they made a patience reference saying how slash was on the bed with all these broads coming in... Robin said the hot chicks were actually axl..

You've to know that exept us - the "die-hard fans"- nobody knows who the "new" Guns N' Roses are. Unfortunately (sadly?), people don't care. Undecided
It might change a little bit when CD is released but...
However they still do care of the original band. The old band is mythical in people's mind. yes

I don't think no one cares, I just think people don't know.. Even if they did get a glimpse at the vmas that time has passed.. People really shouldn't know new gnr, there hasn't been anything public that should make people aware.. I loved a lot of groups growing up, but ten 15 years later I have no clue what they are doing now..

New gnr will live or die by the new generation, can't expect people in their late 20's to 40's to strill be so into this music and carry albums, tours and request the singles..
