The NEW GNR, not the OLD.

Being everything is new with axl it would make sence to have a new name, gnr broke up, they were great all their years.. You don't hear page and plant or plant now touring calling themselves zepplin.. I think the name is meant for a select bunch and should be kept that way, .. Wether axl left or slash and the rest left it's over.. That's my feelings and I will always want the real thing over someone else pretending to be gnr..

It's nothing personal agains tthe guys in the band now, it's just I rather look onstage at a gnr concert and really see gnr.. They are way to established and stood for such great music just to be redone without anyone but axl.. It started as a group adn should have ended as one until they could work out their differences..

No offense WanaBGunner, but you are completely offbase.? GNR will always be the 5 guys that brought great music to us in the late? 80s and early 90s. They had great chemistry and were very inspirational. In fact, they were part of the reason why I overcame my disability and continue to fight stereotypes. The new GNR, although intriguing, is not Guns. They are hired replacements (no pun intended). There is no chemistry in this band since half of the members do not know a thing about a release date or what is going on. I hope one day Axl can release CD and then call up the guys for a reunion. This would be one of the greatest comebacks in history for one of the greatest band of all-time!

I agree, but my rant wasn?t intended to point out that the GNR name doesn?t fit the new band, because it doesn?t. It?s Axl with a bunch of freaks. I?m saying that Axl has his band, he calls it GNR. And he?s making new stuff (we hope). And thats great, other than he's using the GNR name. And one shouldnt compare the too bands (VR and New GNR). Becuase they are two totally different bands. I just feel that too many people are expecting some album that will be on the likes of AFD. But it won?t be. And I feel that Slash, Duff, And Matt don?t rele give a shit about GNR anymore. They are proud of what they did in the 80s-90s with guns and now they don?t give a shit about Axl. They have there own thing going on, a new life. They don?t ever want to go back. I rather look onto the new GnR on stage then the old GnR. All the former members Izzy, Duff, Slash, Matt have moved on completely from the name and are establishing another testament in their own careers. When I look onto the new GnR in concert I see tremendous potential in the new material Axl has collectively produced with his band. All the band members (minues buckethead...and maybe pittman ) really put alot of pation into the old material as well despite them not having the history that made GnR...GnR

Guns N Roses were one of the best rock n roll legends of all time, and nobody (including Axl and his bunch of "freaks")

They haven't gone far away in my eyes, I watch the videos with them in them all the time watch the old shows, hear them on the albums.. Now they have because they have to do something..  Yes newe gnr has passion, anbd the ability to make something good there's no doubt.. It's not like I have this image of new gnr in anways in relation to the name.. I don't collect new gnr boots or have a folder devoted to their pics.. I try and just enjoy the only gnr I knew growing up and that's the only true gnr.. You can't just have six installments and have axl hand pick any bunch of guys with some talent and expect me to feel the same way about them as I do the actual gnr group that took over the world.. Everyone in the band could leave again and axl could pick a few more guys ,should I call that newer gnr too and want them more then the real gnr..

I like a few of the new gnr song, but I don't listen to any of them anymore, but I do look forward to the album...

I just will neevr call this group or any other group after gnr unless it is gnr.. I don't believ in whoever owns the name can make it something it was from something new.. New music new sound new band new name.. Maybe if we get a few young blokes with paul we can call it the Beatles

I am on a gnr board because I am a gnr fan.. You have this blind loyalty to axl and this new band and yet have not one album in your hands yet..

I love VR, best thing in years, since GNR maybe, not many agree but i dont care.

And all those people that tell any GnewR haters to leave, well why since the GNR section isnt just about GnewR. Its got all sorts of things relating to thr proper GNR also. Plus there wouldnt be much to talk about if we didnt talk about proper GNR. I mean theres hardly any new news on GnewR except for that leaked track which sounded similar to omg (only heard first leak though).

?I mean I know from my years of being a dedicated fan that money isn't the issue with these guys and anybody who has grown up listening to interviews and reading about these guys knows that it is not an issue of GNR making money from a nostalgia Tour. It would only be because they have made up and have a new desire to create new music together again. We shall see anyway.

that is exactly why there will never be a reunion. so people need to give it up and i agree that its an insult to even slash and Duff to always scream about wanting a reunion.

they moved on, they are in different places in life and they all seem very content and happy.

I think the biggest complaint OLD GNR fans have is the fact Axl uses the name which i can see both sides of.

No reunion, if a reunion is the only thing stopping someone from liking VR or NewGNR, they are wrong and childish.

u cant wish failure on one thing hoping it will bring back the desired thing u want to see.
IF VR and NEW GNR fail there will still not be a reunion

a Re-union of GNR in my oppinion would be one tour of the original line up. Not reforming or anything since i love VR and want them to continue. Plus i think it would help boost peoples awarness of GNR if it was on TV.

Don't let you be influenced by their look. If you talk about the Chicago'02 Video bootleg, I have it, and this is my favourite new GN'R concert. Even if the band is not "attractive" to watch (ok sure this is not the Rock N' Roll look of the old band) musically, it's a GREAT concert .

I agree with mike, im sick of the "dont get stuck in the past" because if the new band is so different from the old, the sound etc as you say then why bother naming it GNR. IT makes absolutely no sense at all.
Oh well lets hope some day Axl gets some senses, in the meantime I sure as hell want him to get that CD out.

You are right, it doesnt make any sense. Because the new band doesnt sound like the old wut so ever. And thats what is wrong with you people. THIS IS AXLs NEW BAND WITH A NEW SOUND. It will not be like the old band. None of the new songs we have heard as of now sound like the old ones, and thank god for that. Its a NEW band, NEW. It will not be GNR. It will not sound like them. It cant. Get this threw your head.

Actually, several people on this site have (repeatedly) have noted that The Blues and Madagascar sound like they are from the UYI era. And the correct word is "through" your head, not threw. He threw the ball. The ball passed  through the wall. Get it?

In Axls mind GNr has never ended. And theres nothing you can whine about or do that will change that. When its all said and don we will be getting a GNR album. And if its good then what? Will it not be good because its under the gnr name? Its music. If its good, its good.

The current era of GNr will always be a joke until Axl releases ther album and lets the music be the focus. The people can judge Axl and this band based on that rather than speculation and false starts or whatever. A kickass single/video and a great album will be the way out of that "hole"
