There are a couple of mentiones on todays 20 questions with Death Angels guitarist Ted Aguilar:
In "rate this guitarists on a scale from 1 to 10" he says: "Slash = Oh, dude. I?d give that guy a 10. And the top hat a 15." , and on the "What ?rock star? deserves a smack in the mouth and why?"-question he says: "Oh, man. To tell you the truth? Axl. I mean, I don?t know when Chinese Democracy?s coming out, but you know, it seems like the guy?s got issues. I think he should just bury the hatchet with everything and everyone, and just get the original Guns N? Roses Appetite For Destruction lineup back together and just get out there and start rockin?, ?cause that?s when they were at their best. That would be huge? very huge!" Basically that's what been said by many in the metal and rock comunity, and this aint nothing exciting to us here on the board, I just tought I'd let you all see it.

Yeah I have to admit it, it starting to get a little old to always answer Axl on that questions, Im sure if you check all the past interviews 60-70% says Axl to that question...  But maybe that says more about Axl's effort to release the album than it says about the people saying that about him?

Go watch your old DVDs if you're wanting the old band back.

FUCK THE FAKE !!!

I want GUNS N'ROSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! peace

FUCK THE ARGUMENTS!!!

I want to be able to recognize the merits, virtues and flaws of any given line-up of GNR without having to put up with pointless bickering over which version of the band has the biggest dick.

Honestly Axl should do exactly what that guys explains...  join the whole original band together and bury the hatchet... No matter how much time there is been spent... Axl might reach the peek of any chart if he goes back with  slash and the guys, perhaps not with steven hehe....

I think that the reason Axl is such a popular answer to that question lies in the background of the person being asked.

Think about it, at one time Guns N' Roses were the biggest band in the world. How many people can say that they were a member of the biggest band in the world? just a handful....... How many people aspire to be in the biggest band in the world? every member of every garage band going...

The people being interviewed by metal sludge arent exactly Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, it's usually the rythym guitarist for a band called "Blood Clot" or something like that. To someone who is just lucky to have his name in a rag like metal sludge it must be difficult to see someone like Axl who had everything (For Christs' Sake, he was the crown price of Rock and Roll) and just throw it away like that. These people scratch and claw just to get a minor record deal, if they can play infront of more than a few hundred people it's the highlight of their career...... Five years into Guns N' Roses Axl and Izzy were on stage with the Rolling Stones, while the members of "Blood Clot" might not be able to afford 5 tickets to a Rolling Stones show.

I just think it has to pain someone who fights and fights just to fail commercially to have to watch some one like Axl.

i have to agree that most of artists interviewed there arent huge but i dont think the dude from death angel has something specific to win if he ll bury axl! i just think that he says exactly what he believes... death angel btw its a cult thrash band, just to let ya know? Kiss

I don;t think he has anything to gain from bashing Axl, I just think that he is saying what is on his mind. Like I said members of smaller less successfull bands must get aggrivated watching Axl's actions of the last 11 years.

thanks for the cute little death angel tid bit, but "Cult" stands for no more than 1000 rabid fans gives a shit about them. Less people know the band Death Angel exists than have seen Axl live at a single concert.

Why is it when a person criticizes Axl for something, it's the person's fault or deffect and not Axl's.  Maybe people would like to smack him in the face because he is an asshole or maybe it's because he had such a shot to be the biggest ever and he blew it.  It's not just the fame that anger people about Axl, you don't see Bono topping any list to get smacked in the face.

Do You Know Where the F*ck you are?!  Axl's not accountable for anything on this board! LOL! I get your point and agree with it, but you may be in for some "fan-ish Idolization" comments....

Yeah, I expect some nast reactions but oh well.  I am a big GNR fan, have been for more than half my life but c'mon, Axl is the eye of this storm.  Like it or not, anything that goes wrong with GNR is AXL'S Fault.  It sure as hell is not Tommy's fault or Dizzy or whoever.  This has become a one man band with a bunch of hired musicians.  Axl does it all and tells the rest how and what to play.  I do love the music of this band but I keep a realistic perpsective on things.  I owe no allegience to Axl considering this whole mess is his to clean up.

lol yes, u are absolutely right but can u just comprehend 'that' cult doesnt mean mainstream necessarily?
leave the objectived nouns behind, will ya?? Kiss

Yes I understand cult, but you are deluted if you think that the guitar player from Death Angel would rather be a 'cult' thrash metal icon to 3000 people than the guitar player for the #1 band on the planet. Metal Sludge doesn't tend to interview anyone who has a shot at reaching the level Axl reached then eventually dropped from. Every person they ask that question to must want to throw up when they think about what Axl had and threw away......... It's what they shoot for and will never get

I think it's interesting how thrash metal legends actually like GnR! And I understand where he's coming from. If Death Angel can make a comeback like that, than GnR can, too. I liked this interview.

Axl has always been the favorite rock star to bash, whether it be a tabloid or has been or wannabe rock star.  I attribute that to several factors:
1.  Jealousy - Let's face it, rockers get into the business to be successful.  While they may not all be financially driven, the rockers still have dreams of making it, you don't want to be a garage band your whole life.  Axl was at the top of the heap for a while, and even after 12 years of no album, can still get the big guys (ie:  MTV) to roll out the red carpet for them.
2.  Disgruntled Fan Syndrome - they're displacing their anger over the breakup of one of their favorite bands.
3.  Because Axl chooses to live his life the way he sees fit, rather than live it for someone else.  This is a part of the disgruntled fan syndrome.   Many fans think that their stars owe them something, and when they don't get what it is they think they are entitled to, they lash back.

The Sludge 20 questions usually also includes the question:  What band should call it a day?  How many of these wannabes/has beens would say GnR ... IF the original line up had stayed together and were churning out records every couple of years?
