I'm scratching my head wondering if I have read this story already...

You say 'novella' - was it included with some other short stories in one book?  Like '4 Past Midnight'?   I think they made a TV drama out of the first short story in that book - it's been so long I cant remember the name  Undecided

I probably am wrong but i think the short story this movie is based on is included in the "Changing Seasons" short story collection Stephen King published awhile ago. I have the book somewhere and I remember it is made up of 4 short stories. By the way, there are a few good film adaptions of Stephen King stories people!!! The Green Mile was simply fantastic! and...Stand By Me, easily one of the best films ever yes

Havent seen this movie yet, but off topic for a second...who has seen Depp in "Blow"? That was one hell of a movie, I think. He was great in it, too.

I thought that Depp was at his best in this movie. However, the film itself was overly predictable. Almost from the moment Shooter showed up, I could tell it was one of those Fight Club/split personality films. Or Identity as someone else said. I have never read the book but I am sure it is 10 times better.

Sorry to correct you again (I'm a perfectionist!), the Stephen King novella was entitled Secret Window, Secret Garden.  But the movie that we saw on the screen had the title Secret Window and it has been promoted under that title since the beginning.

"The Langoliers"

I'm going to see it this week. I agree with the Stephen King + Johnny Depp = A good movie theory.

He also does a great job in 'Chocolat' - he lives on a riverboat and steals the show in every scene he's in.  Good movie overall, although it made me hungry for chocolate.  drool

Secret Window was a good movie, and Johnny was top notch as usual. All the eccentric little nuances that he added to the character (the jaw popping, and flapping his hands after washing them - instead of using a towel, etc.), really made him that much more interesting to watch the entire time.

I've seen nearly every one of Johnny Depp's movies, and in each one he has delivered the same level of complete devotion and absorption to his characters, that no other actor today even comes close to reaching, in my opinion.

Any Depp diehards here need to check out his first two films....

A Nightmare on Elm Street -- JD's first film and one of the all-time classic horror movies.  Forget the tepid sequels.

Private Resort -- JD's second film, a typical 80s sex comedy.  Guys will like the naked girls.  Girls will like the naked Johnny Depp (brief ass shot).

SHIT!   Embarrassed  You had the title right, the title I mentioned was another movie (with no Johnny Depp).  Private Resort is the actual title of JD's second movie.  Sorry about that chief, thanks for the correction.
