it really sucks that these guys aren't filling up the venues.  im going to the palace show tomorrow with 2nd level tickets that i bought the first day they went on sale and there are still tickets that are 2nd row on the 2nd level right were i am.  ticket prices are way to high for these guys to pack the venues no im gonna have to try and sneek below or something.  it takes so much away from the experience when you go to a venue that is like half full.

It's tough, they've been touring for close to a year now, some cities they are hitting for the second time-I really never expected them to fill a place like the palace, anyway-also don't think Dirty Little Thing has taken off well as teh next single.

Its no surprise - Contraband has only shifted 1 million copies - consider how many of those copies went to people how hated it (which i imagine is significant number) or casual, non concert going people and its pretty obvious VR think they are far bigger than they are - most bands have sold 10 times what they have before they tackles arenas.

I like VR but they ain't anywhere good enough to go see live - if i went it would just to have seen Slash.

That's because you haven't seen them live.
I saw them and I will say they are by far the best live act in rock right now. The songs sound so much better live, and it's such a rush!
But no, you won't appreciate the band just from the CD, live is where it's at.

BTW when I saw them, the place was packed.

they should just hand out free tickets wherever they can.  it would be better to get some people out there just to get em to see what these guys can do.  ive seen about 5 commercials for the event this weekend so they are really pushing to sell tickets right now.  40 bucks is wayyy to much for 2nd level seats.

Velvet Revolver should release "You Got No Right," or "Loving the Alien" as a new single. Slash's solos in that are killer. But yeah, they should have stuck to playing theatres.

When i saw Velvet Revolver in Melbourne a few months ago i was surprised at how few there were at the show. Standing room was a little empty but their was hardly anyone in the seating rows.

They are amazing live. I have some amazing live bands in my day, and VR is no slouch live. They packed the Bell Center pretty good, except on the sides, which usualy don't sell well anyways.

Yeah bollocks to sales.  Why are fans so concerned with the business side of things these days??  I don't get it.  These guys fucking rock ass, the venues in the uk were sold out.
I would never approach music like that kind of "oh they are not really a band to see live" !? bollocks.  I personally would rather go and see a band live than buy the records because that is where the good bands and artists kick ass.  Bands have completely changed my opinion of them once i have seen them live - for good and bad in some cases.

America is a huge place so i wouldn't expect them to sell out everywhere they go because they are still a new band.   They will grow with every record and the Ozzfest will be good exposure for them.

They were awesome when I saw them live.  beer

It was in a small venue and was packed.  It sold out in a day.  I think they should stick to the smaller venues.  I like the closeness and intensity!  Grin

I agree, they sound so so so so so so so good live. It was the best concert I've ever been to. And yes, it was WAY better than the Guns N Roses concert I seen a few years back in Fargo ND. I seen VR thursday at the St Paul Energy Center in minnesota. The place looked sold out (I was looking for empty seats but couldnt find any). The crowed was crazy and everyone was really into it. I was told by others in the stands (i was front row main flow) that no one sat down the entire concert.

See, you were worrying for nothing.  It really isn't a big deal anyway if they don't sell alot of tickets. I am going to see them Tuesday and it will be the fourth time they played my area in the last year.  They are selling enough to keep on touring... If they were only playing all the major cities like one show or something, you may see more sell outs. They tour so much that the demand isn't crazy. Anyway, each show I have seen gets better so far and it looks like Tues won't be an exception. The setlist is alot better than last time..

Its not just the "business side of things".  Going to a sold out concert adds a lot to the experience, there is a lot more energy with a full house.

Also, the fans like to see their band do well.
