They are already done if what Axl said in 2002 is true. So help hope we really get that 3 cd in three or four year plan.

If the first album doesn't go over well......... we will never hear the others.

Pre-recording them all is retarded anyway because as a band you grow so much musically as you get out on the road and play together and get closer as a band. All the studio time in the world can't simulate that experience. By pre-recording everything in that you cheat the creative process that would have naturally come along as the band played more together and went through the early growth stage. By never recording again because you supposedly had everything done already, you never allow that growth as a musical entity to be put on an album.

And if you decide that you have come up with some new ideas and decide to record them, then this whole process and all the time involved has been a big waste of time as the whole goal of supposedly recording all these albums at once is so that they don't have to go into a studio again.

Either way, there is a reason this has never been done like this before. Because the formula doesn't work well. And that is not even a reference to starting up a new band with new members.

I would say not too long. I think the reason why CD is taking so long is because they are collecting more and more songs once the three album's project is complete, the albums will drop one after the other..

Well considering Chinese Democracy is taking this long, i think we have enough to worry about.
there might not ever be a 2nd one if the first one never comes out. peace

I think this really depends on CD. If CD is released, the band has a lot riding on the success of the album. If the album has great sales, then there may be later albums.. Who knows how long they'll take? If CD is released, and it's a bomb, then I think that will be the end of GNR... Anything they'll put out after a flop would kill them... I would hope that the "loyal" fans would buy all subsequent albums.... Of course, if CD is a bomb, it's more likely that no more records will be released... I strongly hope not, though...

You're kidding, right? Don't expect anything after Chinese Democracy. I truly believe its gonna be his last album. Thats probably one of the reasons it is taking so long. Thats why i'm really hoping for a 2 cd set. Even though a 2 cd set is unlikely. Consider Chinese Democracy to be Axl's swan song. Anything after CD will be icing on the cake. Hel, we'll be lucky if we even get CD.

I hadn't realized the fact that it might be the last GNR album, and it might be a great Thread by the way... "C.D. Last GNR Album?"
It might be sad, for all of us (Gnr fans) who have waited such a long period of time... I hope he understands that We will support him, no matter what kinda music he decides to make... anyway... only axl and time will tell---

One thing's for sure.

Once GN'R fans finally have Chinese Democracy in their hands, they'll be able to wait for the next albums standing on the heads!
